Hey everyone, so I just noticed that the threads where the brake line threads in for one of my aluminum 300zx brakes has been completely pulled out. Do you guys think it would be safe to heli coil this piece? I'll take pictures if nessecary but it should be easy to visualize.
Safe or not?

Bust out with the ol' tap and die kit yo.

you're fucked.
the threads don't seal the fluid, the seat does. there's no way to get a tap or heli coil in there. remanufactured calipers aren't that expensive, just swap it out and go easy next time.

never use an impact on an aluminum caliper not saying you did but we have to put stickers on the caliper boxes we send out so when idiot mechanics do that to a caliper we dont give them credit. get a cheap remanufactured caliper theyll give you core credit for that one.

it takes a hell of a lot less than an impact to strip out an aluminum caliper. just wrenching on it too had will do it. it only needs to be snug.
