i bought another ka motor of a guy from midatlantic fourms and when i got it home and took off the stock headers i looked into the ports and i noticed that the part of the valves that i could see through the exhaust ports were kinda covered in oil. I looked at the motor that i pulled from my car that smoked really bad and the valves dont seem to have any oil on them in the exhaust ports. I was just wondering if the valve seals are shot and if it will smoke bad because of this.

from what I've seen, yes oil burning inside the cylinder will lead to smoking issues, just do like I do, and put your car on the patch, should stop smoking shortly after.
all jokes aside, valve seals are a good assumption.

is it hard to change the valve seals before putting the motor in the car? will it need to go to a machine shop and what all will need to be done when changing the valve seals?
