View Full Version : 1993 to 1995 differences
I am looking to purchase a 240 in the next couple of weeks to use for auto x, and street use. My question is which model year would be better to go with as far as swapping the motor and other parts. Do the 1993 have five lugs or they all four? Is there any differences in weight? And before anyone says it, yes I tried the search button and all I kept getting was classified parts, and other things not answering my questions.
Also getting off that subject is there anywhere close to murfreesboro,tn that does work on nissans?
Thanks for yor time

Wow. For real?
And before anyone says it, yes I tried the search button
Firstly: Did you type something INTO the search box? You might have actually gotten some results that way.
At any rate...
89-94 240s are chassis code S13.
95-98 240s are chassis code S14.
No 89-94 240s came with 5-lug hubs from the factory.
S14s are typically heavier, although it depends on trim level.
how do you have 6 posts when you dont even realize that the 93 and 95 are 2 different chassis?
there was just a HUGE POST on the basics of s chassis cars posted yesterday ( http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=160890 ), why didnt you read that?

Well thank you for all the ignorant replies . Yes I do know the 1993 and 1995 are two different platforms. My questions were regarding if there was a difference in the amount of trouble putting a new motor in these cars. My other question if the 1993 was all four lugs or were ther different models lines like the 1995 model ( some se models had five lugs). And yes I did put something in the search column. Go put 1993 to 1995 differences and specs and see what it pulls up smarta**.

anyway, all harshness aside.....
to improve your search results, when you click on 'Search', a drop-down box appears. Click on 'Advanced Search'. A new page will come up, where you can specify which sub-forums to search, so that you don't get 500 for sale threads. Focus your search on the Chat and Tech sub-forums.
1993 - S13 chassis
1995 - S14 chassis
All S13's came from the factory 4-lug. S14's are 4-lug unless they have the SE package. If you want to find a local shop, try the regional forums.

People might argue but after coming from a caged 180 and now owner a 14, the 14 is just a better platform.

The point is, if you had spent any appreciable amount of time looking around before posting, you wouldn't have had to make this thread. Sometimes finding what you need might take more than 30 seconds of search time; if I go to Google and type "tell me about ponies," I know that I probably won't find everything I want sitting on the first page. Maybe I'll have to type in "what should I feed my precious pony?" before I give up and start asking questions.
Like axiomatik said, there's an advanced search; the "New to Zilvia? Read these search tips" (http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=144721) thread stickied at the top of the page has all the details.
At any rate...whatever. Welcome? =P

you DID NOT search hard enough. and there are other places to search not just zilvia...did you try google? obviously not.
just spend a lot of time searching before posting a question extremely simple as this one.

S13s are lighter, and in my opinion sexier, and s14's have better weight distribution and ride smoother. Weight distribution can be changed, stock ride wont last for long if your serious about your car, and cars can be made lighter. Void my opinion and theres your answer

You're supposed to search google before you search here. or you could have just read the first page in the chat section that had an entire thread dedicated to things that you dont know yet. Read wikipedia before you post questions here.

Okay, the nuances of how to and not to search have been covered, this thread was not going to be anything productive from the moment the OP typed "yes, I used the search function," seeing as how EVERYTIME someone says that, whatever they're about to say or have just said TOTALLY proves the opposite.
I'll kill this now.
