Xbox Live question

well I have a buddy who wants to play halo3 with me on my machine on live, but we can't figure out how to do it. You always see the people, like say my gamer tag is SpecOpsPitbull, and then I would have SpecOpsPitbull (1) attached to me, but I don't know how to do that, any help would be much appreciated.

How is it not working? Are you getting some kind of error message?

Just start a local custom game with your friend. Then switch to the matchmaking lobby and change network to xbox live.

My friends just hop right into matchmaking without going through the "long way" that I posted above. Makes me think that you might be getting some kind of error message to not be able to join with your friend.

no, I figured it out, I'm talking about two of us playing split screen off my system on live, but I figured it out, just signed the other controller on as guest.

If he has his own Xbox live gamertag he can sign on to that as well... at least I think so. Worked on GoW but I haven't really tried on Halo 3

yeah that can be done, but you have to resetup your account on your machine later if you do it.
