My power steering on my s14 is currently disconnected due to the hoses that lead from the reservoir to the pump and to the rack are leaking bad. I already plan to get the SS braided line the runs from the pump to the rack, but I was thinking of doing a complete SS braided line setup for the whole ps system. I was wondering if it was possible to have lines made or make my own lines using earls parts that run from the reservoir to the pump and from the reservoir to the rack? If this is possible what size lines should I use? Also are there fittings made that will connect to the reservoir even though it is plastic? If anyone can provide some info on this it would be greatly appreciated. Just wondering exactly what I will need in order to get the lines made? I will most likely be purchasing all the parts and making the lines myself so if you can provide a list of things I will need that would be awesome. Thanx, Cameron

this has been covered either here or on ziptied.

steering rack has 2 different sizes that you'll need.
m14x.1.5 to 6an and m16x1.5 to 6AN
Pressure hose is PS specific and I'm going with this one
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=RUS%2D632600&FROM=MG
here are hose fittiings needed (2) from steering rack
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=RUS%2D620421&FROM=MG
Depending on where you put the end of the line you will need another one. and adapter

lines from res to pump is just a hose clamp fittings

I'm also running a cooler (replacing the OEM loop) and relocating the PS reservoir by clutch master, so I got few extra lines and fittings, but that should get you started in the right direction.

Thanx guys. So can I just order all this stuff from earls online and put them together at the house. What type of specific tools do you need to connect the fittings to the line, if any? The hose clamps will actually hold enough pressure between the plastic and the ss line that it wont leak? What type of hose clamps are you using? Thanx, Cameron

i like the aeroquip a lot
but u can use other brands

um...i think u better pay someone to do this job for you..

andu still need someone to weld on a fitting to your PS pump return otherwise ud have to use a regular hose for it..

Yeah I think I might do that. I just dont have the knowledge enough and really dont have the time to figure it all out. But thanx for the info and my buddy has a friend that works at a trans shop that makes a ton of lines so I can get the hook up there so might as well do that anyways and have it done right. Thanx, Cameron
