More new FR platform news!

The good news:
It looks like the concept.
Has some sweet spoilers.
Will be available with 3 different engines, and a manual 6-speed.

The bad:
All 2008's will be auto.
Dealers are expecting $10k markups. (not that it matters, since they'll be auto.)

Wow.
The manual transmission is the T-56.
The Supra uses the T-56 (as does the Solstice).

Hemi Supra, or 2JZ-powered Challenger?

I know.
Hows the transmission to bellhousing bolt pattern on most?

I've heard the Supra/Solstice interchange, but I don't know about the others.

i still wish the american car companies would try something new, i think the retro look has been beaten to death by now.

^ Other than the 300C...nothing in the last 6 years has come even remotely close to how nice the retro cars look. The solstice looks like a damn gilette razor.

I'm likin' it, I just wish it didn't look as fat as it does. Looks like a slick new version of the Challenger, but we caught it during that 4th magical, bloated week of the month.

I'm not a fan of these. It's too retro. So retro besides the headlight/taillights/wheels, I can't tell I'm looking at the the new one or the old one.

And if you're wondering, I've seen the concept in person a couple times and it's HUGE! Huge size + new car = grossly overweight

i heard that its suppose to be able to fit 24" aftermarket rims with a 20" as OEM parts

Those wheel wells could fit a small Vietnamese village underneath them.

Agreed! It looks like somebody's grand dad's finnished project car. Yeah it looks nice but nothing I would ever consider buying. When are American auto designers gonna wake up?! The Corvette and Viper, Americas pride and joy, still look the same after how many years?? Yea theres a few changes here and there but lets scratch the old design completely and create something new. We're making amazing engines and putting them in 30 year old designs. IMO the Challenger, GTO, Corvette, Viper, and Camaro all need a kick in the ass into 2010.

The Viper and Vette I wouldn't put in that catagory (especially seeing how the viper has only been around for like 16 years), but I agree with you 100% on the rest.

My point for the Vette and Viper were that they still look very simillar after all these years, but I understand what you were saying. My only hope is with Cadillac.
