wow, what a great little car. but you all know that, i'll cut to the chase.

What kind of stuff is necessary for a new 240 owner to do?

i'm thinking of having the transmission oil and diff oil changed, just to be on the safe side. recommended oils/weights?

the timing chain is noisy for a little less than a second on start up when cold. should i worry about it now or do i have some time before i should fix it?

any recalls that i should make sure were done?

any cheap/free mods for a little more power? or even volume! this thing is too damn quiet! i hear something about an intake muffler - how do i get rid of that?

i say you save all your money for a turbo...or sr swap... intake muffler would be the box that the intake filter sits in...you dont really need it but it wont give you any noticable hp either...just a little louder.

Intake resonator.... taking it and the piping made my s14 soo much louder.  On the s14, all you have to do is look at the airbox, notice all teh piping that is going into it (except for the main one that goes to the intake manifold), and rip them all out.  I took out the resonator box too, which is located right under a wall under the airbox.  I dont know if its the same for a s13.  All you really have to do is take out the piping though.

I use 5-30 casteral gtx motor oil.Yah if you take the intake resignator off it will give you the extra"volume" or tone to the car.I am with others just invest into a good exhaust that is good to use on turbo applications and save for either a turbo kit or a sr20.Depending on milage of the car it might be good to get the oil changed and the rear diff.
