I want to put my shocks on my car but the holes on the shocks to the thing behind the disc don't want to line up. I have a 1991 240sx stock shocks with tein springs. The holes are no where near lining up, The bottom one on the shock is on the top even past it on the things don't line up no where near. I tried turning the wheel and everything but nothing... Help please. I need it done in one hour. :-/

Put your foot on the hub and jump.

yea put 1 foot on the hub setup stand on it til it lines up and put the bolt through thats how I did it. Im sure 90% of the people here did it that way at home too. or if u have a friend have them stand on it and u put the bolts through.

I just tried it, thanks to that. I have a big gash on my leg now because of the studs. Is there a better way to do it? I need help really bad.

this could be dangerous but since you are having trouble with the hub you can jack up the strut VERY CAREFULLY until it lines up, and then feed the bolts through. thats what i had to do with my coilovers.

Its stupid proof, seriously. I thought you were talking about the rear shocks at first because that what most people have problems with. I'm "shocked" that your having problems installing the front, the spindle and hub are all held up by the shock, when the shock is off the spindle is loose and easily moves around, Im curious to see whats going on with your car.

wow embarassing. push the brake/hub down with ur foot and pass the bolts thru. if u give urself a gash, suck it up and continue.

make sure both wheels are off the ground or yhou'll be fighting the tension of the sway bar

I put an oem dodge jack on the sway bar, and there was a bolt coming from the wheel well, I started at it. I got it! Woot, I'm not going to do that again. I tried so many different ways before that. I'll have pictures of how I did it later. It was easy.

Well, here is what I had to use to push the thing down.

I put the top of the jack on the lower bolt.

Like so.

I then used the other bar to start turning the jack like so.

And, Tah Dah, it lined up perfectly.

Yes your problem was doing it one side at a time. Since the other side was compressed it was trying to compress the side you had up with the sway bar......

Haha, you and your brother are both in the 240 scene....is that his burgundy on in the background of one of the pics with no hood? Reminds me of me and my lil brother, only he's had bad luck with his engines, or is it the other way around lol?! Good luck on your upgrades. BTW, is your brother on zilvia too? What's his Username?

Yea, he is with no hood, we were racing and his hood wasn't closed properly and it flew off and, no sorry he isn't on zilvia he got banned last time for talking back to a moderator so now he can't come to zilvia without my password. He's on nico forums though.

When I was switching from stock springs to the tein I didn't have that problem when I was doing the passenger side first.

My bro always has problems with his motor. The first time we raced I beat him like nothing, the second time we raced I tried to launch but I wasn't getting any traction he was like 5 cars ahead I caught up and his hood flew off, going over my car.

Raced at El Mirage by the way. I'm all stock. =] He's 2.5'' exhaust piping with Injen intake.

He does drift pretty good though, if you have time check one of his videos he doesn't have any videos with his differential welded yet though.

The thing is, if you do 1 side at a time it throws the sway bar off and it wont line up. Its best to just jack it up one at a time and put a jack stand on each side to get them even then get to work. I learned the hard way to a while back when I put my teins and agx's on.
