HELP! DEFI tachometer +SR tach wire??

hopefully someone can help..
Using stock ECU and tagged off the tach signal YELLOW/RED...that goes directly into my Defi link box...and to my tach. Its not working!! I have read somewhere I might have to buy an adapter/pulse generator, or wire in a resistor or what!??? please help! my tach doesnt even move

to get my defi tach to work on my sr, I tapped into the line coming out of the CAS. I think it may have been the white middle wire. Gotta double check though.

^yes can you please check what wire you tapped into? Was it the coil pack wires? I put a test light to the yellow/red whenthe car is on and there is no power coming off it...is there supposed to? Anyone with a aftermarket tach BESISDES defi got it wokring off that yellow/red wire? Thanks for all the help BUMP!
