what up fam! i was wanting to know if a ka trans can fit in a sr. my buddy bougth a s13 with a sr motor in it and the digital gauge is dead. he took it to this new shop in tulsa,ok and the owner claims that the cluster is not working because he needs a ka trans, that the sr trans does not work for the gauge cluster. to what i know i don't think a ka fits into the sr but you can correct me if im wrong. what my brother and i said to are buddy is that their should be some wiring problems, not the transmission! what does a transmission got to do with the gauge cluster! give me your input!

Swap bell housings, but thats not your problem, its the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). You need to swap the speed sensor in the SR tranny with the sensor from the KA tranny that matches your cluster. If it's a digital cluster, im pretty sure those also die and can be repaired, so that may be the problem as well. Does the speedometer turn on at all?

that guy at the shop has no idea of what he is talking about :aw: it has to be wiring or what STATIK is saying make sure the dash harness is wired right and check the VSS I have done 8 sr swaps and have no problems with that kind of stuff. let me know if i can help any more. i am in wichita KS

Your friend is an idiot for buying that car from an idiot and believing the idiot and making you look like an idiot by coming on this forum and creating this thread..

And what do you mean by digital gauge in an s13? THE HUD? Any information about the car, or what type of sr20?

yeah its the hud! its my brother buddy car not mine. its has a stock redtop. the owner of the shop say that its the transmission that is screwing up the cluster cause its a sr trans, not a ka trans! he wants my buddy to change the sr trans to a ka trans into the sr. what i told my brother buddy that it should be the vss not the transmission.
