for personal builds?

i think that would un clutter the auto chat quite a bit, and make it easer to follow those

It has been discussed. The main problem being that every n00b will post up some useless thread full of "Hey look I got a new body kit. This is how you tighten a ZiptTie" instead of actually good information. We already run into that problem with some build threads, but giving them a section all to themselves would open the flood gates.

Personally, builds should stay "under wraps" until you are done. I get tired of a build thread having updates every 3 pages or so because it's nothing but useless chat and people ASKING FOR UPDATES.

I'm not saying we won't still make a section. I am just stating my opinion against such a thing.

that would be nice, it seems a lot of people are eager to show off their builds now days.

or maybe these build threads should be limited to completed cars, the whole story from start to finish or near finish

you guys could just do like a FAQ section and make it so that the mods have to move the thread into that forum.

just a thought

G'head, try to start a thread there... See how it works?
Unfortunately, users seem to spend too much time ignoring the things that are right under their noses, why give them MORE to ignore?

ya alot of the build threads suck, its like they have all theise big plans but nothing ever happens. i have a build thread im sure it sucks to some people but i did not bother to post it till the car was about 3/4 done. when you are building and maintaining a car its never really done, your allways changeing or fixing somthing.

ya i think it would be cool to have a build section but i think it would get crappy really fast.

That would be cool, but to tell you the truth, if I waited until my car was done, there would be no way I would post it all up because it would take like two days to write the the thread and that is valuable time right there. But I am also a guy with the money and the means to see my project alll the way to fruition instead of pooping out halfway through like alot of guys do.

I would suggest that completed rides that meet a certain criteria after the build is completed be moved into a locked thread that does not allow anything but viewing. Then it would be easy to clean up the threads and just move them.

Small upgrades or whatever to the completed project, need not be put in until a major mod that significantly improves performance or changes the look gets done and submitted by the owner. This would prevent people from posting dumb shit in the thread.

Kinda like a Zilvia Showroom so to speak.

Just a suggestion, personally I have no problems with how things work now.
