Does the coolant reservoir tank need to be vented from the top for air? if that makes some what sense.
On the stock tank, there is a small and thin passage way for air to travel for the air i guess, But im using a tank that doesnt have a venting port near the top, is this important or not, or doesnt matter.
I noticed on the circuit sports tank they have a small nipple at the top by the cap. but on some other designs i dont see anywhere for the air to vent.
Im just wondering if this would do anything to the engine for heating or cooling issues.
Thanks, Brent

Given that it could, in extreme circumstances, find itself spewing a stream of hot air and/or fluid back into that tank, it'd be a good look to have some form of venting, to keep it from blowing the hell up.

Yeah, I would suggest some venting to prevent possible leaks or issues down the road.

I just want to say that before i fixed this, i had an issue with my idle.
My idle is set at around 850rpm, the problem was that it only went down to 1200rpm and wouldnt want to drop back down. ive been trying to figure out what was causing it, did some maf testing, and checked for vac leaks or kinks in a hose some where and nothing.
After i fixed the coolant reservoir the problem went away, so im f***ing happy. i dont know why something like this would cause that, maybe you guys might know.
in the pic you can see near the top of the reservoir where the old nipple went for the radiator hose that i welded up shut. so the hole time i had the tank flipped upside down and there was nothing i had to vent with. But now i just cutted the nipple off and put it on the bottom and now i have the original venting tube that came with the tank i can finally use, you can see it on the right side of the tank. this tank said it was universal but apparently not, since our cars suck from the bottom and not the top.
sorry for the bad pics
