Man Charged With Growing Pot Along Interstate 89
Friday , October 05, 2007
CONCORD, N.H. —
A Concord man has been charged with growing marijuana up and down Interstate 89.
Police suspected Frank Drake, 37, had numerous pot gardens along the side of highway, so they dropped some undercover troopers off early Wednesday when they got a tip that he would be tending his crop.
Police say Drake was arrested around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday as he watered the plants. Troopers say he was carrying a .357 handgun at the time.
Investigators say they seized 44 high quality marijuana plants on the southbound side of the highway and 88 on the northbound side. Police estimated the street value at $132,000.

Because weed is still illegal in this country. That is why.
(Note: This does not need to become a debate about how you think weed is harmless and should be legal. This is a humorous thread about some dumb ass trying to do something illegal in the open and getting caught.)

Would be funny if there was a fire along side the freeway.
And everyone rolling by had their windows down to enjoy the beautiful day.

For what I don't know.
Every time that I plant a seed
He said, "Kill it before it grows."
He said, "Kill it before it grows."....this song just popped into my head when i read this tread....

i remember back in highschool a friend got busted for weed and i was walkin with him, and he actualy hid the seeds and stems in the principals office inside of a office plant, and we woudl walk in from time to time to see it getting bigger and bigger, untill someone figured it out and pulled it.
annnnd i think weed is illigal to grow inside or outside, alot of people around here hide weed in the middle of other farmers corn fields and stuff.

Shhhhhhhhhhit. In the east TN valley, there's so much pot-growin' going on, it's unreal. Hell, it's not all that uncommon to see dump-trucks headed off the mountain full of a crop they busted. There's still a lot they don't "find", though... the cops may, or may not, be in on most of it. I wouldn't know.
They used to have a big hole way out in the middle of nowhere(close to where I lived) that they would burn it all in when they found it. I wouldn't know about that either.
Had neighbors that were growing it on our property, way on the backside, where we never went. I stumbled upon it and someone was out there. They didn't take too kindly to my being there. He had a gun, I heard shots, and I ran. Never fucked around back there again.
Oh, and the meth... :gag:

Growing pot out in the open is the oldest trick in the book.
Hell, a couple of years ago they busted a giant field in one of the national forests on the outskirts of Salt Lake City. Apparently that field was the main supplier for weed in northern Utah, too, as all my friends were complaining for weeks on end how no one had any supply or it was outrageously expensive.
Ha, silly potheads.
But, speaking of which.

Taliban takes high cover
Can’t smoke ’em out? Troops struggle with 10-foot Afghan marijuana plants
OTTAWA - Canadian troops fighting Taliban militants in Afghanistan have stumbled across an unexpected and potent enemy — almost impenetrable forests of 10-foot-tall marijuana plants.
Gen. Rick Hillier, chief of the Canadian defense staff, said Thursday that Taliban fighters were using the forests as cover. In response, the crew of at least one armored car had camouflaged their vehicle with marijuana.
"The challenge is that marijuana plants absorb energy, heat very readily. It's very difficult to penetrate with thermal devices ... and as a result you really have to be careful that the Taliban don't dodge in and out of those marijuana forests," he said in a speech in Ottawa.
"We tried burning them with white phosphorus — it didn't work. We tried burning them with diesel — it didn't work. The plants are so full of water right now ... that we simply couldn't burn them," he said.
Even successful incineration had its drawbacks.
"A couple of brown plants on the edges of some of those (forests) did catch on fire. But a section of soldiers that was downwind from that had some ill effects and decided that was probably not the right course of action," Hillier said dryly.
One soldier told him later: "Sir, three years ago before I joined the army, I never thought I'd say 'That damn marijuana.'"

"The eastern Kentucky region, especially the Daniel Boone National Forest, is a primary source of domestic grown marijuana. In 2006, 557,276 marijuana plants were eradicated in Kentucky, according to the Domestic Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Program."

That's cause people can't afford their mortgages. Pot grower pays their mortgage and in some cases their apt costs and they move um out and grow pot there.
