has anyone ever heard of the brand xtd? i was told that these 6 puck stage 2 clutches are well worth the money and have a decent bite.
i just thought i would ask others opinion since it is a egay special.

I had it on my s14 and it only lasted 2 years. It was the 6-puck version. Not too much physical abuse, but I will not buy another set again.

my friend has the stage 3 xtd clutch on his ka, and
IT
FUCKIN
SUCKS!
worst clutch ever imho. i just moved it for him earlier and the point of engagement sucks and the pressure plate is lighter than stock. i have an exedy stage 1 and its really nice and holds really well for the money. dont get a cheap one on a part that is very important to the car.

and exedy does make many clutch disks for a lot of other companies including many stock ones. the disk isnt the problem w/ xtd its everything else

Had a six puck clutch kit on an sr20 in s13. A bit of clutch chatter, but otherwise a great clutch. Little stiffer than stock and does not slip.

a buddy of mine put a XTD on a stock KA
after 2 events - boom. Stuck 200+ miles from home.

He got Exedy after that.

ITS CRAP!

i liked my OEM better than their stage 2.

In other words, get something else... dont waste your money.

my friend had two "xtd" clutches up in his H22.. he sent the 1st one back 12 hours after installation (2 springs fell out) they sent him a new one.. that one lasted the brake-in period. then after one hard shift.. BOOM!!! pieces of clutch were everywhere.

i use spec. as do some of my friends, havent seen a problem yet.

No Good. They get the job done but chatter so much.
OEM or better.

I had one in a bolt on KA, and it lasted ~2yrs... the springs fell out of the clutch disk.

I have one. I *gasp* researched it before I bought it, and they generally don't last long. I got one anyway, and I don't like it. It slips, and is a pos.

Stick to known brands. Don't be cheap with your car. You get what you pay for.

Oh he wasn't talking about that. He meant it's a warning sign because he drives an integra.
