kragens, autozone, etc.

pop the old one out with a hammer and pull the new one through using a lug nut. dont forget to lubricate the threads when you put the new one in.

Yeah, it seems like I've broken several of them. NAPA!

Make sure to set them good when you're putting them back in; else when you take your wheels off the next time, you'll start stripping all sorts of stuff.

Hopefully just the studs, but I stripped my hub...

pep boys, autozone, kragen... do it FAST! cause the same thing happen to me. i was on the freeway and BOOM! im on one stud in the middle of traffic... if you wanna do it right take off the hub(well thats how i did it for the rear) and put the studs on... if you have the money if a shop where they sell the nismo studs... those wont brake!!

they wont allow you to brake? how are you gonna stop then?

har. har. har. just fuckin wichya

but yea, stock studs should suffice if installed correctly. not to mention they are like what, a dollar?

I have two broken on one of my front wheels, too. Would it be a good idea to just replace them all, just in case, or just the two?

a lot of people say when replacing all of them its best to bring them to a machine shop to get them pressed in, but i've replaced all 4 on my cressida with a lug nut and olive oil (makes my hubs smell good) and it was just fine.

so you should be good to go either way.

Yup like everyone said, finding new studs isn't a problem. The problem is that the new Autozone/Kragen/etc studs aren't nearly as good as OEM studs, and OEM doesn't even come close to the Nismo studs (I run 60mm Nismo studs in the front from when I had to space my SE wheels to fit Z32s).

Once you get the new studs, make sure the car's not going to fall off the jack/jackstands, and pound out those old studs with a hammer. Fit the new studs through the back, put some sort of washer on there (at least 1/4" thick, because the studs arent treaded all the way to the bottom), and torque that baby. Should come out fine.

Perfect time to get longer ones to make a little room for spacers just in case.

LOL!
I once took my stud to a local shop and they brought out a random one because they couldn't match it.

They said: "it should be fine"
lol, I laughed and left.. never went there again.

i believe 240sx are thread/pitch is 12x1.5?

M12x1.25 pitch. Knurl pitch is different on S14s, but we all know that.

As for those who said it, the Nismo studs can break. Easily.

Don't get Nismo. I agree with Russ. I broke about 4.

o, 12x1.25 pitch ;)
silly me.

id imagine longer studs being able to be broken easier than shorter ones?
maybe..
dunno, but use bolt on spacers than slip ons..
much safer, imo!

My friends keep telling me i hit something but i didnt lol.

Do they just 'break'?

Yes, they just break. I broke 2 just torqueing my lugs to factory specs.
