To everyone who is coming to ABQ for the drift day, there is a 40 dollar practice night the friday night before, not run by the NMDG and not a "drift" event (but you can drift). Good opportunity to get some test runs in or to get some grip runs in.

From Racingsouthwest.com
"This could possibly be the last cheap driving event out at Sandia this year. Please come and support it and show that RSW can actually get people out to the track. If you were at the track last time, it was a bit cluttered and we learned a lot about being able to get you guys more track time. We will be able to accommodate more people with more driving time this time around. The schedule of times is posted on the poster below. If you can't make it until later, that is fine, we will work you in but please make every effort to be there before 5pm. Price has gone to $40 for these events as $20 just wasn't cutting the mustard for what it takes to pay the staff at Sandia and have the lights turned on as well as pay for insurance. But you will have some decent driving time, I promise.(as long as the weather holds out)

Yes, we know about this being the same night as the Sagebrush autocross. Unfortunately Sandia is not super easy to work with on getting dates, let alone switching them after they are booked. We are talking with Sagebrush Church right now to see if they can move theirs to Saturday or Sunday so that all of us can enjoy both events, rather than compete and have to choose between them.

TO THE DRIFTERS:
This is NOT a drift event, HOWEVER you will be able to drive as you please if you catch my drift. (no pun) Meaning, if you are driving and you "accidentally" get the back end out and slide your way through the course, nobody will say anything. HOWEVER, if you are driving dangerously, flying off the track, or spinning out a few times causing people to pile up behind you, you will be asked to leave. You must drive the entire course just as everybody else, but how you drive it is up to you."
