I have finally hit the breaking point on my car. I purchased my car about eight months ago with an SR20 installed. I thought I was going to get a good deal... but no! everything on this car was done so wrong! it is truly unbelievable that someone can do these sort of things to a car. It looked as it the person went to wal mart and bought a garden hose and chopped it up for the power steering line and the line to the oil catch can which i installed. I thought my power steering pump was out b/c it was whining non stop. So I start shecking shit out and lone behold there is a cheap ass line about 8 inches too long with not on but 2 kinks in it from the way it was routed. This was seriously the most flimsy shit on the planet. Any type of curve the thing had caused a kink. So therefore not ps fluid was reaching the pump. Fin tards. Also the line to the oil catch can before it was an oil catch can was kinked and it was causing blow by. The fenders on my car had about two screws holding it in so it is flopping everywhere. This was on both sides mind you. Also there were only two screws holding on the hood. Out of the four. If you dont know what you are doing or do not have the proper tools please for the sake of us all do not work on your car. People like this are the reason why I do not buy a modified car. I am a full supporter or DIYers but please do it correct. Putting a band aid on it for now will not fix the problem. Has anyone else had retard related experiences such as this
Here are pics of the car jus so u know

Car looks decent though. I do it on my car bub. the front end is held on by zip ties. if i ever have to take something apart, i put decent amount of what I took off. for instances, the intake manifold brace near the oil filter, yep thats no longer on my engine. i take out just about everything not nescessary. the garden house on the ps pump and kink in the oil line is just stupid though. least he was tasteful enough to go ARC.
I hope they didn't get an ebay intercooler & spraypaint ARC on the front
haha. balllllllllllerrrr

ehhh... catch can hose is fine... PS lines are pretty important. needs to hold pressure.
why dont u put two more screws in the hood....? and more screws for the fenders... im missing two screws on each side of my fenders, but thats because those two are a bitch to get out if i need to take off the fender.

word on the streets is buying a stock car usually gives you the bonus of most fasteners not only being in the right places, but actually existing on the car.

Did you buy the car at gunpoint?
It's your responsibility as a buyer to check out a car before you hand over a significant amount of change.
If the car is really THAT nice, and you're getting a "deal" don't you think you should be a little suspicious at first?

Haha, no ones fault but the buyer. Bet the price was good too. Buying a used car - be ready to fix problems, it's a given.

Looks can be decieving huh?
That car looks so nice from the outside. Really mint looking.
I think I remember seeing this car when it was for sale.
But hey, just fix what needs to be done.
Even when buying "stock" cars, I'm sure there is always some hacked up stuff too.

+1. OP, how bout you tell everyone to check the car properly before you purchase a modified car, so that they don't make the same mistake you did.

rule number one in my book: never buy a car that has already been worked on. you dont want anyone elses abortion

Sometimes, it's okay to buy a modified car, and sometimes, it's not.
Buying a modified car off a reputable person that is known for his/her work is one thing, but buying a random modified car off the streets is another.
It's like...kids who have basic bolt-ons, install some coilovers, bucket seat, and exhaust, then when they try to sell the car, they say "Never raced! Never drifted! Never abused!"

And when someone posts a well built car for sale there are plenty of cries about how expensive it is and that similar cars can be found for thousands less.

everytime i buy a car i always take it to a shop and have them put it on the lift and i do some looking around myself. thats if you have a shop near by, they usually will put it up for like $10 if you just talk to a mechanic. if not then just take it for a testdrive without the owner and stop and pop the hood poke around and look for the obvious stuff. hopefully you find everything that looks to be neglected or if someone did work then you will see some half ass stuff on it (garden hose, bright green!). make a check list before you go of stuff to look at while you do it so you dont get sidetracked by what the car looks like or what motor it has and just being excited to buy a new car. im going to go look at another 240 this weekend and im bringing a buddy that works at my local import shop, and im sure between me and him we can get a good idea of whats wrong with it not to mention if you find shit wrong you can talk them down easier.

Is that because you think the guy is gonna be upset if he sees you open his hood and check around in front of him? I was very lucky(so far) bought a barely molested 93 coupe that runs and drives for a grand the other week. Practically no rust, all stock except for a junkyard replacement motor. It took me a while to find it, and when I did, I went over it with a fine tooth comb, as did a friend of mine, right in front of the seller. He had no problem with that. If there's ever anyone not wanting you to see under the hood before you buy, just get the Fack outta there.
I got a 93 hatch for free and you could certainly say it was hacked back together by a couple of idiots that 1) didn't know what they were doing, and 2) didn't have all the parts for. Well, it made it easier for me to take apart, get all the parts I wanted, and sawzall the hell out of the rest of it. It was a rust bucket by the way, so don't hate me, lol.

I Have seen all kinds of stuff. I usually buy stock cars. I recently picked up a nice slightly modded car for a steal. Yes I questioned it, yes I asked lots of questions about it to figure out why the owner was letting it go at this price. In the end I was sastified. I have built modified cars, good modified cars, for people. I have built them and sold them. Sometimes some people do not have time to do the work themselves.
All I can say in this department is know how to inspect the car, know what to look for.
If you don't leave it to a professional who does or buy a stock car unless you know your buying it off someone who is reputable.
In the end for me my current project car was purchased in half build. It was a steal and it was unusual. I am happy with the purchase because it passes muster based on my ability to inspect and know what to look for.

Yeah, if you didnt properly inspect the car when you bought it, it's your fault! People hack and mickey mouse shit on cars all the time. As a buyer it is your responsibility to make sure you know what you are buying. Sometimes the problems are concealed a little better but a garden hose as a PS line? With kinks? That's your error there. When I first opened this thread I thought it was going to be about some shop you took your car to that had done a shitty job but it was simply your lack of inspection and probably over excitment that made you buy the car. Don't blame the person who sold it to you, blame yourself.

I don't buy modded cars...
My front bumper is held on by 4 bolts...but when I sell it i'll full fasten it.
