hello everyone,

i just purchased an zenki s14 and it needed some work and i got mostly everything on the up and up, however i am lame on two things right now.

my taillights wont turn off. whether i have the headlamp switch on or off. i am not sure why this is.

also my e-fan doesn't come on. i have not let it reach N.O.T yet to verify if the fan itself is the prob or not however i just wanna check if anyone else has had this prob.

the e-fan is wired up correctly according to 240sxforums.com, and looks like a taurus fan, as it is a single however my friend has a kouki with a single e-fan. im wondering if these were standard in some optional packages. i also have a kouki s14 KA engine in the car.

thank you in advance for your help

I'm kinda in the same boat you are. My reverse lights don't work on my car (I know...it's illegal) and my e-fan wasn't working. I haven't diagnosed the tail light problem yet, but my e-fan not working was a big issue. Mine ended up being a fried fuse, and I mean fried to where I'm glad there wasn't an electrical fire. Check your fuse? Are all your wire connections good? I had a problem with the power wire spade connector that kept disconnecting itself on my switch. Grounded properly? If you've wired up everything correctly, it's gotta be the wiring right?

Taillights or brake lights? There's a difference you know. Brake lights, replace the brake switch, it's damaged or out of adjustment. Taillights are on the parking light circuit.
The fan, could be anything, but all S14s come OE equipped with an electric fan.

my e-fan is grounded down to one of the radiator mounting bolts. and is there tight. the wiring colors are blue and black if i recall and are crimped down properly, one the ground, another to a 'black box' (i forget the name right now) and then to a relay in the fuse panel, i think i should just wait for it to reach n.o.t

the taillights stay on. and the car is original five speed if that matters. what should i be looking for in order to alleviate the problem

If your tail lights stay on witht he switch on and off you have a short somewhere. Check out any wiring you did. I don't think it would be a fuse causing the problem.
