Thats a big bitch.
I see a future where normal cars will be 300hp and 4000lbs.

well this pushes the possibilities of the factory being close to the rumored 550hp

yeah alot of the fast top speed cars are big bitches, look at the supras, bugatti, and lambos, not too light. I mean who would have expected a skyline to be light from factory? not since the early 80's. there kinda like a sexy girl with a big ass. a really big ass.

There's not much to fix all that blubber.... starting to remind me of BMW's.. no matter what you do it's still a heavy saloon..

i'd rather have a heavy car with that kind of engine *under* the hood, but damn those seats look awesome

I don't like engines in my hood. Generally not a good sign. Haha, I'm just shittin' with ya.

leather is stupid in 240's, plus those seat's would probally cost copious amounts of money.

Not really a fan of the seats.
That's right I don't agree.

Yeah but I'm not about Fast straight speeds.. I'm about handling. If the handling of the GTR isn't at least on par with the Porsche then it already lost.. According to the video the GTR is at a pretty big weight DISadvantage =/..
I didn't get to watch the whole video cause I have to go.. I'll see if I can watch the whole thing tomorrow.

man, i think you need to watch it again... under 8 min nurburgring equals great handling including fast too.
also they did mention the gtr corner entry was sharper than the 911 turbo.

That shiet may be heavy but damn you barely see any body roll, all in stock suspension...It may weight as much as a 3000GT but this car wont be a pig like the 3000GT on the corners thats for sure.

The aftermarket following for the gtr is going to be a lot higher than a Porsche. Most people who can afford a Porsche don't really upgrade it. Now think of what people will be doing to the gtr. Suspension, Turbos, weight reduction. That's just the beginning. I bet 3 months before it comes out there's going to be a steady aftermarket already in production for it. Just like ford did for the mustang.

Theyre releasing the car in 3 weeks, and supposed to start selling in Japan by December. I bet by TAS in January, there will be aftermarket parts for it already. I wouldnt be surprised to see a couple companies having this car in their booth by then with some mods done to it. By the following years TAS (2009) things will be in full swing with anything and everything you can think of for this car.

R34 GTR= last GTR.
Just like BMW's M3, they just add weight and complexity with each iteration.

Well, unlike the M3, people will be stripping and caging this car. I want to know how much of that weight is just heavy interior components and junk.
Not sure I think most of the weight is from the advanced awd system, that can turn any idiot into michael schumacher. The evo version is lighter but a lot more expensive. Will have to see what has been removed from the evo. I can't wait for this thing to be revealed at the tokyo show.

There are probably more stripped and caged M3s in the States than you could imagine.
^yes I agree I have seen lots of track only m3's. I could never strip and cage a new car though. Man that is an expensive option, but I guess if you got the money.

After further examination you are right.. Now I just wanna see the comparison between this and the Z06 too see who is the best "budget" exotic killer.

I think GTRs gonna take that title from the Corvette. Nissan already took the budget sports car title with the Z. The question to me will be the engine. If it makes close to 500hp, I wonder how over engineered it is? Remember nissan has always made boosted engines to handle alot more than stock. R-34 GTRs are capable of making almost triple their stock power rating all on stock internals. 500hp, with a rom tune and bump up the boost, should be capable to hitting atleast 700hp.

I don't know. Over all the Skyline may win.. But I can careless about "overall" (interior,stereo,airbags/etc.)..I'm looking at straight performance.Plus the Vette has an ever greater weight advantage then even the porsche had on the skyline

so... lets start removing stuff from the car in theory
its 3800lbs right now in automatic form
if they ever release a proper manual i bet it would go down to 3600~
heck i bet if you took those seats out it would take out at leas 100lbs.
the wheels look real massive and heavy as well
i think this car, stripped to its purest form can hit 3200lbs
Man I don't know 3200... Are we talking gutted race car at that weight? I think the car would be an animal if someone had the green to gut and fully build the car.
I just hope to god this isn't true> http://2009gtr.blogspot.com/2007/09/21-wheels-and-tires.html
Gonna be real hard and $$$$ getting good track rubber.
Weight comparision.

Well there is a rumor that the car would be rocking 20" rims as a base, so it wouldn't surprise me if they go up a bit more. Still...that is quite excessive.
