View Full Version : She's not running so well...
Well, i went on vacation for about a week, and i left the car in my garage here in CT. It was cold when i was gone, but no too cold. I changed the oil like 600 miles ago, and ever since i got back, she's been running kinda weird. like in the sub 3k rpm range, it kind of sputters. any ideas? it almost feels like the transmission is slipping or it feels kinda like a little stall. its hesitating and killing my gas mileage in the city. any suggestions/ideas?

don't know for sure but if i had to guess i'd say its a fuel distribution problem, fuel pump maybe(just a guess)

Oil won't matter. I use 10w40 year round. The KA tolerances aren't that tight. I would suggest run it around 4000 rpm for a good 30 miles, and then see if it does it. Might just need to be run on the highway to get the bugs out.

Quick rule of thumb, here, if there is a clanking sound coming from anywhere outside the engine, investigate. If there is vibration on the wheel, take it to an allignment place. If the engine is hesitating, TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC! You don't want to mess around with a malfunctioning engine. An engine is 300 lbs of finely tuned metal, and when It looses it's tuning, it becomes 300 lbs of flying shrapnel! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

That's not true, and anyway that is no fun. Does it idle ok? Rev up ok when it's not in gear? Give us a little more to work with. We need to see if it's the tranny or the engine, but I would bet on the engine. my first guess would be to replace the fuel filter. Good luck
