I need some help on this one. I can get a short shifter or a rear strut bar for the same price. I already have a front strut bar, and the combination of the two gives me goosebumps. A shortshifter however is also quite appealing . What should i do because i only have money for one right now. What do you guys think i should do?

get the rear strut bar and delete the other two identical posts that you made about this subject.

I'd actually say the short shifter. I've got an S13 hatch which is probably the car that should benefit most from a rstb and I can't tell any difference. I think my harness bar makes more of a difference since it connects the two c-pillars at the stock seatbelt mounts.
The short shifter will make you happy everyday, the rstb will make you happy when you open the trunk. Now if it includes a rear triangle bar, I might change my mind.

Would'nt exactly break the bank to buy both. Not exactly the most expensive mods.
I'd say go suspension first... The rstb should be a great benefit to cure some understeering. As far as the shifter goes, I just bought the OBX one and it rattles like hell and it's not loose. I'm going to see where it's rattling from and see if I can solve it. If not, I'll sell that one and just pick up the Nismo solid shifter or the B&M one.

A rstb only stiffens the chassis. A rear sway bar would have a more pronounced effect on handling. That would probably be the better use of money if you were looking at any of the big dollar stb's. The whitelines are $250 for the pair and are adjustable.

i have the nismo solid shifter, and if you are looking for a short shifter, i wouldnt recommend it. the throws w/ the nismo shifter are NOT SHORT. ive tried out the shifts in a car with the B&M and its amazing. the nismo shifter is not even close, im sure the OBX is about 3x shorter throws than the nismo. the only prob witht he B&M is people say they also make rattling noises above a certain RPM. hmmm...but yeah i wouldnt really recommend the Nismo shifter if you are looking for the shortest throw. it just has a more solid feel over stock since its one big solid piece.

since your question was between SS and rstb I would say get the short shifter if it is of quality, but I don't know what makes your deciding between. If you just want to know the best way to spend a little cash on your ride I would agree w/ 2402nr...sway bars would be the most noticable mod. good luck.
