Hi,
Got some new adjustable control arms, slapped em on, took it to get realigned, now there is a vibrations at 60mph and up, worse at 70mph.:wtf: Only thing is it goes away when Im taking a right turn at those speeds on the highway, gets worse when im taking a left turn. I should note that I have a j30 heatsinked diff...before all of this it would normally *klunk* when Id put it in gear from a stop..now it doesnt do it all...aswell the day before i slapped on the arms i hit 115mph just fine..tire balancing was fine before ..no vibrations:eek3:. Ive checked lugs, greased up all the pillowball joints, checked bolts on the coilovers, tie rods are recent (tein). One of the alignment techs said that my driveshafts bolts and joints where tight how ever it moved a bit in the center holder bushing thing and a bit of space with the diff and the chassis. I just dont see how this could happen over night with me just changing the control arms. Any help is appreciated.

try checking wheel bearings for axial play

Ok, put on new front lower ball joints...the others where bad though where not the cuase of the problem...took it to brake check again..different one..had all 4 tires balanced..ok..didn't solve it..put it on the lift and the ran it on the lift...the rear sub frame, specifically the driver side rear is vibrating bad, note all control arms have been replaced with pillow ball aftermarket arms. the only thing we noticed out of place was that the diff is missing 1 upper bushing on the front, passenger side and that when we held the diff in place and lowered the car, the bushings on the subframe did not expand, they stayed flat, except for one. Drove it around after the balancing, same vibration at that speed of 65-75mph, still goes away on turns and returns on bumps and such which is what keeps this problem so stupifying. I'm just trying to get other opinions before I buy something else that does not solve this problem. I know you can't see or feel what i am talking about. any help would be appreciated.

I want to bump this because I have this exact same problem. When I get around 60mph, my car which seem to be at the wheels (I can't really tell), vibrates. The steering wheel stays put. When I turn right on the highway, it goes away.

Really fucked up wheel bearing? Thats the only thing I can think of since it goes away when the weight of the car shifts in turns...

a vibration that would happen like that could be casued by, a wheel bearing, because of oo much of not enough perload, bushings being worn out, does it growl at you when you increase speed? does any sort of noise go along with it? (((((it MAY have somthing to do with diff bushing gone becasue of weight transfer the diff may not be able to rattle)))))THIS IS A GUESS. are the control arms torqued to spec? and did you check all of the ball joints to see if they were bad? you could try to see if the bushing on the subframe has taken a shit, this is assuming there is one. also you could try seeing if there is a chance that the subframeis a little bit loose and rattle from road vibs.

Maybe it's one of the bearings on the left? Since the weight is relieved from the left. I just checked the prices on these things and they cost quite the penny.
There is the vibration noise that I hear from my car not having any insulation (no carpet). I'll check the others.

if some one alreay told you that your driveshaft support bearing is lose then than thats where i would start. sounds like time to upgrade to a one piece aluminum shaft.
i wouldnt bother with trying to figure out why old parts go bad all of a suden, some times it just happens.
i threw seafoam in my car once and then the thing wouldnt start. it turned out that the $7 distributor cap i bought wasnt contacting with the rotor and all those parts where less than 2 weeks old.

did you replace the missing bushing on the diff?...my friend has a j30 diff in his and he had that same problem...the bushing fell off and started to cause his diff to vibrate...he kept driving it and it eventually cracked his subframe at the 4 bolting points of the diff cover...he ended up needing to replace the subframe
