Hi,
the story is i got my car with only one key! :-/
its a 96 zenki S14, but i don't know if the key requiers any special duplication or is it just a plain key?
iv'e serached the forum but never fully understood what key do i have...
here is a pic of it...

check to see if you had a factory security system. the module should be in the trunk if you do.

8 positions with 4 heights for each.

Security stuff is nothing more but an magnet in the lock that detects open/closed lock and a remote opener (as far as I can tell). Its not a VAT key like GM or BMW or whoever else uses.

Regular Nissan key - a guy looked at mine, and cut me a new one. My key was worn down and wouldn't open trunk and pass door anymore. yet he looked at it and cut it on the first try.

mine on my 95 was a regular key... hell getting a key cut only cost a dollar or two, so just try it and hope it works. I can't see it needing a chip or anything inside of it.

Dealer, get master key and spare valet while at it. I did this for my corolla and it came out to ~$30. Figure it should be in the same ballpark for the 240.

I used to have a 95 and it didn't need any special key. I agree with the others and say either go to the dealer if you want a valet key, or any hardware store to get one.
