but i do want to take some classes, theres a skip barber ill prolly go to in the spring, and my winter reading project is the skip barber book....if thats what you meant by more driving

also plan on putting on the damn Z brakes ive had sitting for over a year on, the lsd i didnt have time for during the turbo install...might even get a 4pt cage

and if everything else goes as planned ill take a road trip out to jwt to have them tune my car using the nismo 550 sidefeed injectors and a cobra maf

yeah, i dont know why im writing this, but its better than working.....::::as my supervisor walks by:::: <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sly:'> actually more like <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Why wouldn't you invest $185 in Nissan Motorsports bearings? I ask because of all the endless stories about Nissan OEM bearings...

I believe you can get them from the dealership, you can also checkout Courtesy Nissan.

I do work at a Nissan dealer. We're still waiting for news from Nismo.

Boosted, we'll keep in touch.

YellowS14, what car is that turbo off of? What all did you spend $5500 on? (Just comparing to the price of my boyfriend's XS kit.)

YellowS14
09-12-2002, 11:47 PM
not off any car, custom made, it has the ballistic style output flange if thats whats throwing you off

5000 spent on...everything, but i used the right stuff, not to insult anyone, but the xs is the last kit id consider, the fmax is the only one id buy which is similarly priced to what i spent, and like i said my price includes everything

not listing everythihng detailed, but

custom garret turbo
various flanges
braided lines/connectors
various fittings/adapters
gaskets
Z platinum plugs/wires/cap/rotor
numerous pipes including 14gauge full 3" downpipe
NPR intercooler/silicone hose connectors
JWT ecu/370 injectors
Greddy R bov
Tial 35mm wastegate
stage 3 Spec clutch
Redline gear oils/water wetter
new filters
fab work for welding i couldnt do
every little nut bolt screw clamp etc

now if i were to go through my receipts and just pick out what parts were needed to make the kit similar to what youd get from fmax.....itd be less, but like i said i added everything because to me its all necessary, i couldnt put all the power to the ground without a clutch....new plugs are necessary, always good to do a tune up, not to mention i went with the premium stuff as much as possible...sure i could get the right copper plugs for .99, but i wanted the platinum Z's, same with wastegate...deltagate vs tial....a bit more, but its a very high quality piece. might as well throw redline in there while its apart, the shift really improved, i actually havent grinded once since its been in

i actually started out wanting to do a budget kit, but the money i was putting into everything i decided to do it right

as far as driveability, it sees positive mani pressure at 2500, i dont know when it gets full boost as i need to watch the road. it pulls hard and fast, 1st and 2nd gears go by unimaginably fast, and i hit 100 without blinking

ive got the bov open right now with the maf before the turbo, but this weekend im going to try a blow through setup to see how i like it, right now i cant deal with the idle/stalling issues

it runs pretty well, the mani sees about 7.5-8psi plugs gapped to 28, im gunna open em up till i detonate on 93 octane and back off one, but i run 94 (one benefit NY has, 94 at every Sunoco) so it should be fine even if i get a bad tank

and like i mentioned earlier next year im gunna drive to JWT to have them program in nismo injectors(they dont offer any sidefeed program over 370 right now) ill have them tune the computer to my car, hope to get a HKS ignition and get somewhere over 300hp which shouldnt be a prob with this setup, i like the 300 mark, TY has 320, Dennis 350, but as long as i get 300 i plan to keep it around there for safety and longevity reasons, might get a controller with a high/low function just for fun

ehh tired....bed time <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sleeping.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':zzzz:'>
