Would you give someone the VIN to a car you're selling over the net or over the phone?
I'm just worried that some of the people that have called or emailed me (didn't respond to fishy emails) may track down the vehicle's location at night, get a key made at the dealership, and steal it while I'm asleep.
Am I just paranoid?:loco:

People calling you or emailing you are obviously interested in your car. However, it is not feasible to sell your car without having someone check it out in person unless you send it. You're the one thats going to have to give up its location.
Be cautious and protect your car. buy a kill switch, a club, pager alarm.
It is common practice for people to ask for vins; to run a carfax report.

The car has an alarm... but I hate it. Its in some kind of valet mode where every time the door is closed, like 30 seconds later it arms.... and it has horrible remote range.

Giving a Vin as mentioned is a common practice. I wouldn't go check out a car without first Carfaxing it.

^Ditto.
You'd be suprise on what you find after you buy a vehicle. (flooding, multiple car accidents etc.)

nothing wrong with giving away your vin, like ManoNegra said I wouldn't even look at a vehicle until I car faxed it.
