Welcome back Norm. I'll be there also in December to January. Going to visit Boracay, Ilo Ilo, and Roxas City. Can't wait! I'll take more pics also. haha
i'm going to Boracay and Manila in a month or so. i'm looking forward to it, any tips? You'll have so much fun there. Boracay has one of the nicest beaches in the world.
Tips... are you Filipino? Do you speak the dialect there? If not, then try to fit in as much as you can. The tourist spots in the Philippines are places foreigners get kidnapped. Sad, but true.
Manila.. just watch out for pickpocketters. :bigok:

If you're Korean you'll be fine. You'd be surprised how many Koreans are coming to the Philippines to learn English since it's a national language there!

LOL sorry about that. Your location says Seoul, ROK so my bad. If you have a filipino female friend that knows the ropes you'll be fine. If you wanna buy something just let her do the talking, but make sure she bargains well.

no problem, i'm in the military and stationed here for a year. i plan on some serious traveling while i'm here, japan's next on the list.
my friend speaks several dialects so i think we'll be fine. we sort of dated and sort of broke up so it might be a little akward but i want to go to the philippines so fuck it.
what was the weather like aside from the clouds? i'm fine with the clouds because of my aformentioned pastieness, but i've heard it's humid from late summer to early winter. did it rain at all?

Went to Boracay also! Another nice thing is that sand extends way past the shoreline and into the water where you won't see any rocks, only small fish. My brother-in-law works with sea-air and he got us freakin' good deal on the fair. The only thing I hated about boracay was the landing because it has such a short runway.
Pic of my boy....

Another nice place to visit is Puerto Princesa City and El Nido in Palawan. I was there back in 1995. At the time my Uncle was a Colonel in the Philippine Air Force, so we received the VIP treatment. Got to cruise around in an H1 Hummer around town.
We were going to visit the San Fernando underground river but it was a 3 hour drive so he hooked it up and we got to ride in a Huey Helicopter Apocalypse Now style. The trip only took 30 minutes and we landed on the beach in front of all the VIP European tourists. It was pure baller status. Rad.
