I have a '93 Chuki S13 Hatch.
S13 SR20 Motor / Tranny
SAFC and supporting mods
I was driving her the other day (drove perfect), pulled into a parking lot, let her sit and idle before turning her off to cool her down cause i hadn't reset my turbo timer yet, and then went to move the safc a little.
I pulled the safc and did not know i didn't have very much slack at all in the cord, and the black plug inside the unit pulled out. The idle dropped from about 1000rpms to 600ish immediately, and i turned the car off so i could take the screws off the back of the safc and plug the wires back in.
So i pulled it apart, plugged that big plug inside the unit back in, and went to start it.
Accessory works, everything has power, the safc gets power and reads throttle, but it will not crank.
The starter doesn't even turn, it doesn't even make that 'click' noise like when you have a weak battery or anything.
I disconnected the batt and pumped the brakes and left it overnight thinking that would solve the problem due to it maybe being in a safety mode or something due to it getting unplugged while it was running, the next day, still no luck, same thing as before.

WTF did i do to my S13?

Have you checked the saftey switch on the clutch pedal?

All the settings still in the SAFC? If they are, go check the wiring harness and make sure everythings still good connection wise. You might have pulled on a line and broke a wiring connection.

it looks to have held the original settings, even if not, wouldn't it still crank?

The AFC will not keep it from turning over. Put a volt meter or test light on the starter solenoid and have some one turn the key over and see if you are getting power to the starter. If you are then your solenoid is bad. If your not getting power check the remote wire that runs to the solenoid. If your not getting power to it when you turn the key over like your going to crank it then trace it back to the wiring harness. It may have burnt the wire internally.
