Ok, so I have been looking on the forums, but I have yet to come across a thread that has good info on a shop in SO CAL that does a GOOD CA18det swap.
It seems that most shops are pros at doing SR swaps, but have no experience in CA's. Also, Im looking for the cheapest price around, while still retaining good quality (http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=157829&highlight=ca18det+swap#) work.
Also, Im planning on buying all the parts, all I need is a shop to swap it in. If you could, can you include an address, #, and if you have a rough estimate, that would be great.
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP!!( And no, Im not planning on changing my mind and going SR, so don't leave any, "just go SR" post.)
Thanks A LOT!!

I know of a well rounded mechanic who works on all exports, www.sparkracing.com, I'm pretty sure they could do it.

If a shop can do a Sr swap they can do a Ca18 swap. the wiring is virtually the same.

Also just to give you a heads up, if you are dead set on a CA plan on rebuilding the motor either right off the bat or within a year, most motors end up having toasted rings or bad bearings. also prepare to buy another turbo, they normally give up pretty fast also. Im am speaking from experiance on this. I have done more then 5 Ca swaps, and i have two 240's with built CA's at the shop right now.

Even if the CA motor has around 30-40K, I should still expect to change the rings, and bearings? Just wondering! Also, if it does what the case behind this, why do they go bad so quickly?

mine had 35K on it when i bought it, the rings were burnt within 4months, so bad that the car would barely run in boost. my guess is it was from sitting for 10-13 years rusting away. they are old junk yard motors. low mile Ca's are probably comming from a car thats been sitting not one that was just running being that they only came in the first two years.

the motors are usually pretty old, so you have a higher chance of something failing.

when I did mine I just did basicly tune up, new timing belt thermostate, o2 sensor, coilpacks and plugs.

and slw240sx is right if a shop can do a SR swap they can do a CA

I think you guys are talking about the guy whose AIM is Driftready1. He had good prices but I wanted a fuctionally A/C. Which he can do but I choose another route. Check NICO I think I saw him on there.
