running rich..

my car smells like its running rich, and i dunno what to do, ive replaced the spark plugs, wires, rotor, cap, o2 sensor, pcv valve, put in a k&n filter, and it still smells rich and isnt very good on gas, i ran a code check on my computer and it came up 55 all clear, any suggestions? is maybe my timing off?

i have the same problem... and mine produces black smoke at the exhaust...
i did everything.. like you did.. but still...
i have 150+k on my odometer..
things like this make me want to swap an sr or ca in...

mine runs fine, i do get the odd puff of black smoke on a hard take off(have to be really dumping it), i have 140km(bout 90 miles) on my car, i dont fucken get it, the car runs fine, doesnt stall, stumble or anything, idles perfectly on 700, dunno

Are you sure its running rich?? Maybe your cat is bad and its not burning those carbons (?) Also that idle problem which others were speaking of might be the egr valve. Theres a gold little circle behind the engine (between engine and firewall) sorta looks like a gold coin, just larger. Try hitting it with something. This can close the valve that is stuck open (at idle) and fucks with your idol.

Maybe you have something up with your engine SR20 since when i'm behind you driving your exhaust smells like ass, and and tell me your shit smells like roses.

my idle sucks.. it wiggles around 500~1000 rpm and sometimes the engine went off on a red light...
this pisses me off...
oh well.. im gonna check it out this weekend..

Definately try giving a few whacks to the EGR valve, that is exactly what my car did, I had to press the gas and brakes when stopping &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Are you sure you're running rich??? If your car is having idle problems and studders when you smash on the gas <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>, then you might want to change your fuel filter. I don't know if this will fix your smell...lol. But you might want to try it. Especially if you don't know the last time it was changed.

i cant reach the valve... very little space between firewall and the back of the engine... &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
