how do i turn down my modem!?

when my computers connecting to the internet, its like... EIIIIIIIIIIII, RRRRRRRRR, KINKGDONG DEEDUM.  its too loud and it wakes up my parents in the next room.  how do i turn it down?

well it almost the same for every OS..but yea..its ez

find Control Panel

then find Modems it can say anything..juss find something that says modems

a window should pop up..click the modem tab

select the modem ur running

click properties of that modem u highligted

then go thru the tabs of the modem properties, for XP which im running its under modem again in the modem properties and it should say.."sound" or Speaker Volume and juss turn it down

NOTE: not all modems have the speaker volume, that allows u to turn it down..i use to have an old modem that wouldnt let u turn down its volume..so i use tojuss cover the whole damn computer with mah blanket or something juss for that moment..its bad..cuz u might get static

You can turn down your speakers but you can't completely get rid of the sound cause that's how it dials up.

actually, u can, i turned down my modem speaker volume and i do not hear a thing when it dials up... it all depends on which kind of modem u have, some u can turn it down but u can still hear it juss a lil some cant turn off and some turn off completely
