We used to do these all the time in the BMW forums, no one "got rolled" for anything.

ill make sure i DONT go that day.
crowded + noobs & first timers = bad time at the canyon for me.
Azusa canyon is a great place to drive, especially if you have some walkies and a scout car. Maybe i'll meet you guys up with the mazdaspeed, the s13 isn't ready for the canyon yet.

You cant get rolled up there during daylight hours. But its also a RETARDED cruise because there are so many runners/bikers (like on bicycles) on the weekend during the day. Ortega would be alot better, like the RX-7's do for the HangOver Run.
Other wise, if you are up in GMR after dark, EXPECT to get pulled and written up.

yeah, this cruise (read: NOT "RUN," which tends to invoke mental images of racing) is going on down south. (SD/Riverside county border) The problem with Ortega right now is all the construction.

4 real!
you're gonna havel ike 20 s13/14s roll up a mountain. cops will have some fun with that....... Especially if it's advertised on a forum and planned? Wouldn't it be more intelligent to just setup a track day? why not keep it legal and safe at the same time instead of illegal and dangerous.

I just hope this goes down.. the more canyon runners that get pulled over and popped on azusa ave and in the mountains is better for me and the rest of my crew.. they dont even fuck with us anymore.. :rawk:
it just makes me laugh when I see you fools getting popped at the bottem..

I still fail to see how any of what we're doing is illegal? We're not going to be racing, or drifting or anything of the sort... have you never went on a cruise along PCH or to another meet like peterson or oxnard or whatever? (I know several of members here have since I've set several of them up) Hell, even exotic owners set up similar cruises in far more populated canyons. (Mullholland, etc.) I think people have been paranoid ever since 'Tokyo drift,' about anything that concerns the mountains. If I've simply never heard of a law that prohibits an organized cruise where no one's breaking any speed limits or anything, just cause we're in the cars we're in, please inform me... till then, I'm going to enjoy driving a car I love on roads I love with people that want to do the same. I've done them before as well, and have yet to have any issues. Just in case I'm also not telling anyone our entire route, (just meet up spots and milage) but I can tell you for a fact Azusa... not part of it.
edit: Just to clarify, my intention with this cruise isn’t ‘hey lets get a bunch of 240’s and go racing in the mountains.’ It’s simply an idea me and my friends had to do a cruise to a casino meet that’s come to fruition. If you don’t feel comfortable cruising in the hills with us you’re more than welcome to just skip ahead and meet us at Pala. Even if no one else from here shows up that’s fine, I just thought I’d let some others in on another local event that‘s going on.

Im paranoid about tokyo drift because asshole kids are slamming cars off apex's and turn ins and understeering off cliffs and I dont want to be associated or hit by one of these posers fag fan boys.
but a drive in the moutains, any time, Id love to.
Just not this time, since its blown up ass all over zilvia now, one of the biggest car forums-public on the net.
Ill go another day witha private group of friends thank you

Word. I went on dozens of cruises with lines of 100 BMW's through almost every canyon in So Cal. We didn't get "rolled" or "popped" because all we were doing is driving. Sure a few drivers would take the turns a little more "spirited" but for the most part it was just a bunch of people enjoying driving and socializing with other enthusiasts.
And yeah right like the local PD actually reads Zilvia. Wtf?? What planet are you on? There's some guy that just sits down at the Azusa PD and reads forums all day looking for canyon cruise threads riggght.

Cops really don't care if your there legally... They will want to fuck ya over anyways even if that means all they can do is give you a ticket for bald tires. (Yep bald fucken tire ticket, judge must love seeing that one)
If you go, and really plan on not doing anything, video tape it. Need more videos of asshole cops on youtoub. (Or good cops owning street drifters, whichever it may be)

Its common knowledge that there are street racing units for both CHP and a couple local municipalities who do go on car forums for research.
Theres actually a detective that is frequently on FA from Los Angeles Country Sheriff.
Do they do anything with the info? I dont know.
Plus I dont want to go up and stuck behind a bunch of slow cars on a cruise...haha

I went up to Angeles Crest on Sat morning in my 240 (early, like I was already up there by 7am) and the CHP was out in full force, mostly for the bikers though. I got pulled over for having no front plate but he let me off because I had it with me and just zip tied it on temporarily. My car is stock other than wheels/suspension bits so unless you are driving a 100% legal car up there, expect the CHP to target your ass (lets face it- modified 240 driving around the canyons, what else would you be doing up there other than hauling ass??).
