This is actually my first time posting on this forum even though I visit this forum often. Anyway I just recently purchased the KW Variant 3 suspension for my s13. However I noticed on KW's website the picture shows that it comes with a remote reservoir to adjust the compression. I noticed my units didn't come with these reservoirs. Are they suppose to be like this for the S13 or are they suppose to come with these reservoirs? Has anyone purchased these coilovers for thier s13 here?

I've seen KWs with external reservoirs, but never seen any externals on S chassis cars.
What made you get those particular coilovers, and what's the car for? How crazy of a build you got goin on?

It's going on my daily driver, I got them because I've heard KW has a good rep as a suspension company. Plus the place I got them from highly recommended them to me.

I actually put them on the day I got them. I couldn't wait to try them on my car. So far I'm happy with them they feel real smooth and not harsh at all. They actually feel better than my stock suspension over bumps. Still need to mess around with the settings. The only small complaint I have is that they don't go as low as I would want them to. The front you can go up to 2.4 inch drop the back however will only go 1.8 inch.

Here are some pics I took of my car this weekend. The back is dropped the maximum the coilovers will go. The front still has some more adjustment left.

so are you still able to adjust both compression and rebound separately since there are no external reservoir? where did you purchase these might i ask?

Yea I am still able to adjust both the rebound and compression. The rebound adjustment knob is on the top and the compression ajdtustment is on the bottom of the strut. I got those from Dynamic Motorsports in Lake Forest, CA.

the car looks great. At that height its not the super-low BH,Doosh, and others are at. I'm sure the ride will be alot more solid and great overall.

They should have info on the KW Variant 3 on their website.
You should try both these links they give you more info on the coilovers and the application list.
http://www.kw-suspension.com/en/30_Products/20_KW_Coilovers/30_Variant_3/index.php
http://www.kw-suspension.com/en/30_Products/20_KW_Coilovers/40_Application_List/index.php?modell_1=240SX&level=3&hersteller_1=NISSAN&gruppe=all
According to thier application list they only make them for the s13 as of right now however you might want to contact one of their distributors if they have them for the s14. If your in Southern California I would try Dynamic Auto Sports.

I've got a couple of S2000 friends who swear by KW Variant 3s...
One of them ran 1:59 at Buttonwillow 13CW this weekend with a stock S2000 with R comp tires... Fastest car out of all of us by a couple of seconds!...

The motorsports are competition type coilovers I think you would have to look at their racing catalog.
Try this link:

KW Suspension is actually pretty pricing. However with the features they offer its well worth every penny. Also depends on what use you are purchasing them for. Varient 3's are pimp! I was going to pick up a set but ended up going with the Greddy Type-S Got a good sponsor deal on them :bigok:
