car:
96 240sx, all stock, kA24DE
run down:
i bought this car from my friend, who converted it from auto to 5spd, yes it ran, and because he had the car slammed on 18s, he decided to chop the body/fuse box harness, then relocated it inside the engine bay(to avoid rubbing issues). IMO, not the right way to do it, but it's done...well, he then soldered every single wire back together, but when he started to solder the 1st few wires, he used the wrong solder(the rest are fine), but those few wires with wrong solders doesnt have good connections and causes the car to do some odd stuff, like a/c cutting on and off, tach bouncing around crazy and so forth.
after driving it for a month now, it bothered me...
my solution:
buy a 5spd body/fuse box harness and swap it in...
I found a 96 body harness thats from a manual car, i chopped the old harness for quick removing and put the new one in....but ran into some problems...
1st problem:
the 'Dropping Resistor' on the driverside wheel well, nothing is going to that now...so theres no signal to tell the ecu that the car is in park(am i correct)?
2nd problem: http://ka24development.com/cwilfert/electrical_wiring_harness_connectors.jpgthe wire that is usually jumped on an auto harness is not there anymore. What can I do?
well, now the car wont run, it would power up, horn works, lights, radio, a/c blower, etc. but theres not signal to start the car.
Basically, i think i just need to get the starter a signal so that it would start. The car still has the auto ecu, and auto engine harness, would I need to change those to manual ones for it to start up?
my friend put the car back to complete stock before i bought it...so the car is not slammed on 18s anymore and i dont need to tuck the harness. This is my daily, and i need it to run so i can go to work!!
Please help!
thanks in advance...
