Power FC for a 94-96 would it work on a 98?

Im a little weird about this since the power fc i have is for a 94-96 black top ,the shop im doing my swap the guy said to me that the power fc i have for 94-96 will work on a 98 black top also . is that possible ?. and if is why Apex make diferent power FC's for diferent engine year ? > the clip looks pretty good and clean
i just dont want to have a major deal with the engine after swap is done

Type-X 180 has a couple re-pin difference over the regular S13 blacktops. I imagine, just repinning the harness should make it work.
