No its not another one of those indecisive threads where the person cant choose a color.
I'm trying to find a metallic brown color to paint my car.
only problem is I'm having trouble finding the right brown.
I've been to dealerships. searched online. looked at color charts.
they are usually ugly. or they just dont have any brown cars.
most of the time there is too much red or orange or just a weird looking brown.
I'm looking for a chocolate kinda brown.
lil bit of gold metallic.
any suggestions or color codes?
any help or point in the right direction is appreciated.
if the dude with the dragged out brown s13 that was at the end of the summer autobacs meet could help me out that would be perfect.

too orange looking?

too gold looking?
I'd imagine dark-chocolate with a little gold isn't an easy color to find have you seen it on a car or just imagining it?

Take a shit, sprinkle some glitter on it.
Brown Metallic, there you go.
Good luck in your search. You may have to go to a Paint Store and have them custom mix something for you.

haha the mercedes is too gold looking.
yeah hard to find for sure. seen it on a couple cars, and imagined it on mine.
thatguy- well that was a thought. but recently when i crap its kinda tan.
so im not really going for a beige metallic. hahaha :keke:
but yeah it'll eventually end up at a paint store getting mixed.
if i cant find the exact code ill just custom that fucker.:bash:
a paint shop should know the color code to the UPS brown (which is the best brown), have them throw some gold pearl in the clear, done:

i was actually thinking about ups brown. then i thought it was too dark.
so chocolate brown.
and putting gold pearl in the clear would be retarded.
pearl would be part of a 3 stage paint job.
i.e.- basecoat>pearl>clear
its hard to spray clear because it runs easier than the basecoat.
even harder to spray pearl because you have to evenly spray the thin layer of pearl...
now imagine clear running with metallic gold sparkles collecting at the bottom of the run.
anyways... with that being said.
massive protein shake is next on my to do list. lol
the search continues.

you're making this harder than it is...
find a brown and add gold pearls done and done
if you plan on painting it yourself just pratice on the hood first until you get a feel for it then do the whole car
really once again its not that hard

Anyways.. goodluck. I was contemplating a metallic brown for a long time, but i think im gonna stick with graphite grey.

just fyi pearl is easy to shoot, you just fog it from about 18 inches and it will lay out even. if you can run clear then you could run base coat.
it would look nice if you took your time and shot it.
+1 for you for the idea though

As long as you don't paint it my color that's a good color.
Beryllium from a Infiniti FX45

This brown is cool too.
Not sure what color this is from though.
What you can do is get a black and then just keep mixing in gold metallic until it lightens to a brown you like. A friend of mine did that.

ASPEC your the one who through the color out there...come on now you cant be the only S13 Hatch in Calif with Beryllium
This color would be cheaper for you to use since its not custom mixed and his S13 is sick in person...I saw it at Irwindale and I do say you actually took my Idea...but oh well....run with it.

There's an original Supra TT color, anthracite, that is more popularly known as Monkey Shit Brown.
It actually does look sick if done right. My buddy Ryan just had his repainted with plenty of gold pearl thrown in.

Haha yeah I know :(
Can't be original forever but when I originally found that paint code I was super stoked cause it was my dream color (and it came out the way I hoped)
My only issue with Beryllium is that it needs to be sunny or in light to look good. In overcast weather or at night it just looks gray. I get the "ohhh what kinda gunmetal (or gray) color is that?" question often. If I could redo it I'd probably up the brown metallic so its more like the FC (Dorimon's) on the first page.
Same thing like Mehsilvia...one day I was driving and saw the FX and was like, DONE.
You know what I'm getting at though, its just like ohhh please let me stay semi unique (if possible)
I'm definitely NOT saying like "yo imma kill you son if I see another Beryllium S13" haha
Its still expensive ass paint but yeah since its not custom mixed it's way easier to match later on. The only issue is finding a shop to do it properly, because even if you took this paint to a $200 paint shop, they'd probably have a hard time laying it evenly and doing it right
Addicted2Kouki: I think your best bet would just to be get a custom brown mixed, cause then at least you could control the color you're getting. But like I said above, it only becomes an issue down the road if you want to repaint something or if you want to change something (i.e new hood with new paint).
Then matching it becomes a problem, but just depends on your paint guy I guess.
I saw a weird brown on the road the other day and thought about this thread. I forget what car it was though :( I think a big body Lexus or BMW?
