My s14 project

Hey this is my first post and build so b nice, well anyways, around May i bought my first s14 and a month later i totaled it. so about a month ago i bought my second s14, and man it was in bad shape so the fun started. I started by pulling the body kit off and sanding all the paint they rolled on and yes i said rolled it looked like shit so to warn you dont ever buy a car that has a paint job with a roller or please dont ever roll paint on your car. Lucky me i had all my other s14 interior and it was 100% better than what came with the car you will see, i have a built ka-t that i am going to drop into this car, mods: crower rods, cp pistons, stock crank, stock head greddy td06 turbo, greddy turbo manifiold, 3" dp back blitz exhaust, greddy 720cc top feed injectors and greddy e-manage ultimate. well here are the pics starting with my first s14 and so on and also i will update pics daily.

thanks for the encouragement, well like i said first post dam pics r to big so if u scroll right u can c all the pics, my plans r really drift and road racing so the sun roof had to go no head room plus that thing weighed like 60 plus pounds.

i think you need more bondo, you took out the sunroof -60 pounds but i would say you have used 100 lbs in bondo, i guess i give you props i hate body work, good luck man

what u c is fiberglass shit it kinda like bondo but alot harder just to fill in the little seam on the panel but other than that just high build primer to level it all out.

I got my 2 AEM gaugues in, i decided that were my fan control is would be beter for mounting my gaugues so i cut out the hole were the control went so i had room for my gauges to rotate, gauges are wideband A/F and boost controller.

I also got my new bumber in, it is an AIT, i had to kick the old bumber off becuase the previous owner moulded it in so now i have to mould mine in becuase it wont line up very good.

No i didnt mold over the sunroof with it still in place i made a patch panel.

its up to you but id do it right the first time so you dont have problems in the future...really not your fault the previous owner was a tool bag tho

Well guys got the car finally jammed out, thanks for all the tips still dk what to do with the hood prolly paint it like semi gloss, cuase in the furture going for the s15 conversion and ill prolly get a cf hood, i wish i could c some good pic of blue s14 with some what of the same paint scheme, if any1 has some please post them thanks.

Ya im prolly not going to paint the hood black to many ppl do that just paint it the same way as the rest of the car, about the door latch i wanted it to b the same color as the rest of the door, my dad is a painter he helps me alot and really painting is not the hard just practice, i live in DMI, about hr and half away form iowa city, and on the filler i used lightweight bondo on the BK, and FG resin stuff cant remember the name of it ill look later and let u know, and i used high build keystone 3to1 primer sealer best shit for fixing Imperfections.

but i have a question...
how do you customize your center console radio bezel. Because mine is cracked and i want to figure out how to fix it. ive been told to try fibreglass it and i am not sure if thats the way to go... the previous owner glued all the cracks but it just doesnt look nice . thank you !

Well all i really customized was were the a/c control goes, and what i did was cut a piece of abs plastic to fit mixed up some fc resin and put it on the back side were the a/c control goes to hold it in and toke some lightweight bondo and filled the cracks and painted it. Thanks for all the props guys and will prolly have the whole car in paint by sunday just have to finish building my paint booth.

Well bout the third brake light really like all the light i can get becuase dont like when ppl rear end me, we get alot of snow and its hard enough to see when u get blizzard like snow storms, and bout the paint job its called pearl and it changes color in diff light hits it trust me there r no light spots but, thx 4 the tip. Maybe this pic will help and also sry to disappoint

Well guys sry for being lazy bout the build just been really busy with work and having some probs with the paint but hopefully by this weekend ill have some semi finished pics, and also off topic and maybe a stupid question but does a OBD1 ecu work with OBD2 plug and if so will it work proper, and again sry for being lazy with my project i hate following a build and it takes forever to make progress on it.

My thoughts about filling in the sun roof is wouldnt it be easier to have tach welded in a piece of sheet metal for support and then Glass/Bondo the finish?

Also b4 u guys ask im going to paint the engine bay and the front radiator support when i swap in my other ka motor but going to do it after the winter cuase 240s dont get around good in the snow, just does not make sense to me to do it at this time.

Awesome job on the paint! Yeah, you might want to lose the fogs. It just doesn't belong where you mounted them. That place is for fatass intercooler. If you really want to keep them, I'd place them behind the ducts where the turnsigs go. I dunno just my honest opinion...

where'd you get all the paint supplies as well as the color? this is something ill probably end up doing rather than pay $4000 for a quality job. i have just the amount of patience for something like this, because the time spent shows with your car, very nice

Awesome job on the paint! Yeah, you might want to lose the fogs. It just doesn't belong where you mounted them. That place is for fatass intercooler. If you really want to keep them, I'd place them behind the ducts where the turnsigs go. I dunno just my honest opinion...

Ya I wasnt 4 sure if i was going to have fitment for an intercooler so ill prolly end up taking them of anyways but ill wait till that time comes, that was the original spot i was going to put them but it look really bad.


KiLLeR2001where'd you get all the paint supplies as well as the color? this is something ill probably end up doing rather than pay $4000 for a quality job. i have just the amount of patience for something like this, because the time spent shows with your car, very nice


The paint i used was keystone and lesonal from my local autobody store, the color i have is my own mixture, but im sure there r alot of blues the same tint, u just have to go to a autobody store and look at paint chips till u find a color u like.

WOOOOOOOW I feel lost even looking at this dam thread it has been so long, but the delay is becuase we have had the worst winter ever this yr ovr 50ft of snow:eek:, well i have been doing hella work on it these past weekends, cuase when i was buffing it i burnt through the paint and had to re paint half the car ovr yea. Well i know in going to sound like the boy who cryed wolf but it should b done by this Thurs. So please tomorrow night check this old ass thread for update.:hsdance:

lol, we did not get over 50 feet of snow. it was over 50 inches.

car looks good. just need better fitting wheels, lower, and an exhaust.

Ya word on the miss type that would b alot of snow, ya going to get spacers and already have exhaust, built ka with turbo and soon i hope i can get suspension.

Well little update, well i have the greddy TD-06 20g :fawk2: turbo setup, when i had it on my other 240 i took the cats off and experienced huge boost creep like round 25 psi, so after doing some research found out i wasnt the only person experiencing this, so really there is only one cheap way to do it and it is to buy a external wastegate and put it on the greddy mani and make it work so that is wht i did, here r a couple pics.
