The switch inside the gas door has been pushed back (on the inside of the trunk). There is a small white circular piece with a black piece in the center. It looks like this "snaps" onto the opening behind the door and holds the pin/switch that holds the door shut and allows it to be opened.

Does anone have any experience with this or had this problem? Do I need to get a new white piece (or from a junk yard)?

pull the gas door off and get a locking cap.... done and done :D

hahahaha i had that problem before. anytime i'd open the tank the pin holding the door closed would fall out so i'd have to pop the hatch open realign it in place and then close the door. the door would hold the pin in place but yeah iono you just need something to hold it. do what nismoracer says too and get a locking gas cap. I say go to the junkyard though and get another piece.
