so i have a sr blacktop that has run really well. I have a profec b setup to boost 14lbs max. it usually peaks at around 11.5 or so which is fine.. I drove it last night w/o any problems, i even thought it felt strong and faster w/ the new tires i just installed. today however, the boost wont go past 6.5 psi approx or builds until 3750 rpm but then falls off HARD. Is my turbo sh!tting the bed? it was running great last night but today it runs fairly normally under 4k rpm but once it nears 4k rpm of gets to be about 6.5 psi it falls off really badly.. Fwiw i did check vaccum lines and such but i will man up and admit that the oil level was too low and i am thinking i cooked the turbo?? im not really sure how that happened as i wasnt romping it and merley cuising a few miles on the highway. its a stock turbo, it wasnt making any really unusual noises. it was a bit louder but nothing horrid..After shutting the motor off there was alot of heat from the turob side of the motor and i think i could even hear a slight of sizzle but i cant be sure where that was coming from.. im hoping that its an easy fix but im betting hte turbo is cooked. thanks for any help.

im an idiot for letting the oil get a bit low btu last night it was runnig GREAT and today its crapped-out..:-/

I'd check for boost leaks first in you ic piping and couplers...

if its internal wg, check to see if the arm came off. Happened to me, but I wasn't building any boost.

boost leaks would be my guess, t25's are cheap anyways so no big if it is fucked

I checked all the lines and intercooler couplings i could readily find. everything looked good. The wg arm on the turbo is something i havent checked but it doesnt seem likley. I wont rule out boost leaks yet, im guessing i cooked this almost ten-year-old-turbo. This should certainly speed up my plans for mild engine build-up.. My engine build plans before this episode were very modest, i wanted just ems, tuning/dyno, and possibly more fuel (injectors, rail, fpr) although w/ the stock turbo im not sure its needed? I need suggestions on new turbo and management, i have a few supporting mods, fmic, intake, exhaust, fuel pump, blahbla.

The turbo does boost somewhat normally until it gets up in the revs. Maybe its boost leak and i havent found the source..Ill wait and see tomorrow.
