Heres a copy of my slip, anyone notice anything wrong? Bad 60' time, something like that?
Edit:
R/T... .93
60' ...2.54
330...6.919
1/8... 10.4
MPH...69.26
1000...13.5
1/4 16.10
MPH...87.58
Current mods are K&N intake cone filter and exhaust (Apex'i GT-spec catback), and lighter wheels, if it matters.
I think i need different tires, my first run (a 17.1 <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> ) i dumped the clutch at like 2500 and burned through ALL of first.
2nd and 3rd runs (both 16.1, almost identical) i dropped at like 1500, got a little spin but not too much
oh and my R/T was 1.3 the 2nd run, and .9 the 3rd, but every other time was almost exactly the same...make sense?

Work on your reaction time, its really high... other than that the time slip looks pretty good <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

just a tip for ur reaction time, with the combined human response and the throttle response of your car it takes about .5s to get ur car moving. the timing from the 3rd yellow light to the green is .5s. so basic rule of thumb is to launch on visual of the 3rd yellow light.

well i dunno about all those numbers, but yea..i was told to luanch on the 3rd yellow light
I thought R/T had no effect on your E/T....just important if your actually racing someone else...

get your 60' down but using the clutch more. power out of the whole rather than dumping and going

i have a s13(bone stock) and it ran
r/t-.778
60'-2.548
330'

I only run 1/8 mile
when i launch i dump the clutch at about 2200 rpms and DON'T mash on the gas right away, i wait till the tires have traction then floor it, try not to spin when shifting into second gear(lost time), i havnt figured the perfect way to eliminate this but im working on it. I am installing a vlsd and i will post my times after the vlsd install so you can see the difference in that.

your r/t will have no effect on your et... you should definitely work on lowering that 60' though... pull a 2.3 (which isnt all that great) and you will be in the 15's for sure...
whats in your trunk, spare? jack? take it all out... lower your air pressure in the back a bit... are you dumping the clutch and slamming on the gas??? ride the clutch a little... give it constant gas... wait until your tires grab... try launching at different rpms...

i got a new et with the vlsd i just installed. It helped alot. One way to dramaticly reduce your et is get to the track early and put an ice bag on your intake manifold. Wait till it gets ice cold(about an hour or two) the go run. THe next run it will be hot again so make this one count. With the vlsd i ran:
r/t .484 (jumped a little)
60'-2.421
330'

if by dramatic you mean a tenth of a second or so

I noticed that a few of you talk about dumping the clutch on the start and i think that might be the reason why you're getting such bad times. Now i'm not saying to let the clutch out super slow but just do it enough so that you don't get a whole lot, if any wheel spin at all. I run my car up to 4k on a start, but then again that's in my eclipse.

Do the ice test yourself. Go to the track and make one run, then let it sit with the bag of ice on the intake manifold for a while then go run again and tell me what the difference is, i think it will take off more than just a tenth but that my opinion.

last i checked isnt a gsx is all wheel drive, so if you did dump the clutch all you would do is bog down, right? So you have to do alot more stuff with the clutch than say a person with a 240 has to do.
madwilly814

actually a GSX is all wheel drive
rubbersidedown

it'll bog down but if you accidentally let the clutch slip before its all the way out then my wheels will spin. Its true they won't spin much but it still makes for a shitty start and and over all shitty run. I raced my 240 when i still had it and i still didn't dump the clutch. It all comes down to practice really, but i feel a smooth release does a lot better than dumping it. Once again i'm not implying that you should let the clutch out really slow but i'm saying just don't dump it.

It really is all about practice. I am going to the track tonight and i will do the ice test as a controlled experiment to prove it to you guys.
