Hey guys, well I'm in the market for a kouki S14, and I've found a shop that is selling quite a few of them. The place is called United Motors in Downey, CA. Since I've never heard of them I was wondering if anyone has any input on these guys. Whether they're on the up-and-up, shady dealer, poor quality, bad salesmanship, etc etc.
Has anyone ever bought from them before?
Any feedback would be greatly apprecaited before I go down there so I know what to expect.
Thanks.

i went with a buddy to chekc out their s14 collection for sale (seems they have alot) ... and it looks like alot of their cars are salvaged or at least been in accidents.
they have a garage right there, and the office is kinda sketch. somethin is weird abotu the place .. but i dunno. last time they has a rb20 s14.5 that they claimed they did the swap there ... but the work in the bay looked old, not fresh?
they also had a somewhat clean red ae86 that was turbocharged...i dunno.
go and find out for urself .. SOMETHING is off in the force though....

Ah I forgot about this thread.
To sum up my experience with them.... SHADY!!!!
I went to look at a red 97 and when I got there, he kept trying to get me to look at other cars. Kept bragging about this green 97 Se that he had that was CLEAN. Well the first time I saw it the interior smelled like dog shit, he gave me some ecuse about it being related to the paint job. He later admitted that he was driving it around with his dogs in it. (found out AFTER I bought it)
To make a long story short, I bought a car that he told me he got repainted cause it got keyed, yeah no. This car was my totaled 97' that I have been parting out for a while. As I started removing parts, found bondo on the passenger front fender, passenger rear quarter panel, airbags were not hooked up (no sensors), car was an out of state, no smog, wouldn't pass smog casue of the CEL (knock sensor) and he just kept on resetting it everytime I brought it up. The paint job wasn't done, I ended up having to go back out to long beach to get the clear coat done.....TWICE. Mind you he didn't tell me any of this until he had my check. Oh and They have no idea what cars have which options. Kept bragging to me about the SE having ABS, VLSD, etc.
Basically just avoid this palce. Not a clean shop OR office, too many cars on the lot and too high a price, and he sells car that he doesn't even have the current title to.
Keep looking.

aren't there laws that you can exploit to et your money back? especially with something like faulty airbags, I'm not sure a car like that is even legal to sell, for the same reason that removing or messing with your airbags is illegal.

place is sketch.
my friend didnt want to wait so she bought a 95. the guy told her it was clean. and everything was fine. the window button was messed up. the trunk didnt pop, and they steam cleaned the engine said it was good, i think the head gaskets going out...=\
i dunno i never got a good vibe off them.
theyre the same place that was in Long Beach off the 710 and PCH

there are definitely laws about withholding any information on a sale, you can take them to court and even report to BBB

yes there sure are laws against selling a vehicle with deployed airbags especially if they hold a dealer license they can get it revoked.

Yeah good thread. You know there should be a sticky posted about places that are selling 240s and what to watch out for.
Based on our Zilvia collective experiences, we should be able to establish a pretty good reference for everyone that's looking to buy a 240.
But yeah United motors owner Andy says he owns another shop in Long Beach that he actually took me to when I was buying my 97'. He said he had to go there to get some approval paper work and wanted me to check out some of his other cars.
He had all kinds of Nissans and Toyotas. He kept pushing me to get in and start up all these different 240s. It was like he was trying to get me to buy more than one.....wierd.
It doesn't surprise me that people are getting skeptical of their newly bought 240s getting jacked soon after they get home. I'm sure if United motors is involved, he's working with someone.
So basically I would just keep looking and avoid this guy at all costs. Not worth it.

Stay away form this place. they are extremely overpriced and most of the car they have are form out of state. The owner andy had told me he buys the things at auction out of state. I had my hatch serviced there and it took him 3 weeks to get it fixed and he tried to charge me for storage
