Ahh, a very simple problem. &nbsp;Find a manual and stick it in. &nbsp; Then everything will work nicely. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> hehehehe

It might be the overdrive button wires.

if u press the overdrive button then push the shifter just a little forward or backward..... does it go into overdrive? try that..... and see.... i had that problem...... it corrected itself with time... so yea.... (didn't u used to have a 5-spd s-14?)

pulled the switch, its not a reall normal thing, hard to explain, but i cant tell because there are no wires to the switch, oh and by the way - taking out the 2 screws on the shifter is a bad idea

I kinda fucked up my tranny once. I burned out going into reverse, didn't mean to do it really, I didn't realize it. Drove it to get gas, and it felt like I &quot;lost&quot; 4th gear, it would only go to 3rd and stay there. Actually, it was only on third, my acceleration was slow, but I was able to go higher than 60, so I think it got stuck in 3rd. I got scared. So I gased my car up, and turned my car on, hoping it was just a minor problem, and it was. Never gonna do that again.

hey gh6o6, O/D switch in car, O/D switch or solenoid on trans, possible O/D relay, frayed/corroded/broken wires, worst case....O/D unit in trans bad.
did u say NO wires to the switch..?? if its an electric switch it must have wires to it....

when i took out the 2 screws, the button popped out

the swithc is a little self contained unit that has 2 clips sticking out that clip to 2 pins that have no exposed wires

where are these relays and switchs on the trans?

doesent it piss you off that we can peel out in reverse and not in drive?

dont know location of relay, the O/D solenoid is always on the trans but dont know exactly where....do you have a shop manual? (sorry, never been under an S13) if so follow wiring diagram.
.....thats why front drive cars do such great burnouts......smokey!!

sorry no answer, but what exactly does O/D do, whats the benefits. I just leave O/D on never even tried to turn it off.

oh yea....grille question....sorry! that means no Haynes shop manual, only FSM. expensive. maybe someone here can look up &quot;component location&quot; in their factory shop manual to see where relay is. it might also show switch on trans location.....sorry dude, i dont have FSM yet!

icer, the o/d button being off makes the car stay in third gear rather than go into 4th making the car rev higher and its good for the highway when ur doing like 40 and it feels sluggish and u wanna pick up speed quick turn o/d off and u'll feel a nice kick.
