I just started having problems with this vacuum leak yesterday.

My idle has become unstable and is fluctuating.

I tried cleaning out the IACV with intake cleaner. Didnt do much.

I looked at it today and heard some air hiss noise, from that i kinda figured it was a vacuum leak.

It became louder today when i drove it around.
I'm guessing the leak got bigger.

I checked for loose hoses. All of them in plan view seemed fine.

Now here are my questions:

-Are there any usual problem areas I should look around?
-Suggested ways to fix leak?
-Tips to finding the leak faster?

Oh yeah... I have a S13 KADE in a S14.
-stock except for an exhaust.
-leaky downpipe.

Any responses should help.

If there are no leaks in the hoses, Check the rubber seals where your injectors go into the intake manifold.

here he best you can do, IF its a vacum leak.

1st try to hear air sucktion, i know the engine is runing and its loud but the ar sucktion its an out standing sound!

2nd and best its to take a brake cleaner, and slowly spray toward the vacum lines make sute you cover all the fields! now you have to wait and see when you spraying where the idle changes! up or down, and this is how you nerrow down and find the leak!

if its a vacum leak its the best way to find it, it works for me perfect all the time...

lmk if you need anything els

good news =]

i would recommend carb cleaner instead of brake cleaner for spraying on probable leaks in the future, brake cleaner is not o2 sensor safe, carb cleaner is though. just my .02 :P good advice none the less
