So I got my harness all hooked up, save the ignition and MAF, just spliced the body connector on, plugged it up, go to crank the motor over and I get nothing. I hear a clicking like a relay behind the fusebox? and another relay clicking up front on the drivers side in the engine bay, where the relays are for the fog lights and the headlight motors.

On my body connecter under the dash, I couldnt find a match up for the green w/blue and green w/yellow wires coming out of my DOHC connecter, could that be why my cluster has no power when the key is turned on?

I hooked up my test light and all the wires from the ignition switch are powered when teh key is turned to crank.

This car had some mickey fucking mouse alarm on it that I cut out, could there be something I am missing, hidden switch or some bullshit?

My dad jacked the test light to work on his baja, so I did not get to see if I had power to the starter =/

Let me know ANYTHING you guys can think to check, if you need more info, whatever. If you need more info please let me know, im kind of stumped...

Thank you,
Paul

check them relays, fuses etc. jump your starter to make sure working too.

this is what the harness should look like

Thanks for the tips murphdog, im having trouble seeing whats up in your pic though, ill take a pic tomorrow of mine.

I grabbed the test light and I dont have power at the starter when cranking the key, the starter is good though, cause it turned the SOHC that was in the car.

Ok, what are the four relays on the back of the fuse box and why do they chatter away when the key is on or cranking, yet i dont have power to the guage cluster or power windows? Something is afoul here and i am not sure what the fuck is up.

Im on the verge of having to take public transit to work, help!

I think this might have something to do with it, HA. I'll be going over it tonight and tomorrow. just fiddling with it I already have power to my cluster. heh.

When you removed the alarm did you remove the alarm relay that interrupts the start signal? Cuz if u didn't it'll never crank. It should be hacked into the ignition switch harness somewhere under the dash or the steering column cover.

check the Alternator and alternator fuse. Fuse is 75A
take it to a local auto parts store and they should test that for free.

check the ground.

you getting fuel?
-if not then the easiest way to check for fuel is to listen for the fuel pump. put your key to the "on" position.

or yeah i forgot, when you do the sohc to dohc swap, there are extra wires for the sohc diagnostic crap.

and btw you should solder the wires together, conducts a better electrical signal.

maybe that's it. i dont know. its off the top of my head.
if it helped then good, if not, its just some reassurance.
