ok so my car was sputtering bad and i thought it might be a vac leak or something , i park the car...

i come back and it wont start, i had a buddy jump the car and it started, drove it down the street it sputtered bad and shut off...jumped it again

i have an optima redtop...i go to advance and have it exchanged out for a brand new one...i put it in, car starts up...but my capacitator is blinking lights , so i pull the terminals off and the car shuts off immediately...

is my alternator dead? earlier in the day i had this coolant leak from one of the intake mani hoses but i clamped them down...

i noticed that the bolt that the power line bolts onto was loose on the alternator, so i tightened it all up but still having the same problem..

im gunna have it tested tomorrow but i mean is there anything that i could try?

start your car, leave it runnning. if you can disconnect your battery and the car stays running then your altenator is doing what its supposed to do. if it doesn't, you might want to get it tested and/or look at your wiring ffrom the altenator

Careful with the grounds...causes shorts like it's doing in mine.
