I just wanted to vent about how much absolutely fucking hate cingular/at&t/were not really at&t oh wait now we are again.

I remeber about 1.5 years ago having to pay several fees and switch over costs because I was late in switching to the New Cingular because At&t no longer offered cingular services through them.

Now what do you know...

It's at&t again.

I paid over 200 dollars worth of fees and costs because I was late on switching to Cingular because "At&T will no longer be offering services for wireless now or in the future"

fuck them in the kneck

as soon as my contract is up im outtie.

Besides that nights start at 9 pm for me and ive had some phone bills with as much a 600 dollars...

for some roaming.

fuck them

my plan is up in January.

Who should I go with? next?

Not the same AT&T :tweak:

SBC bought the original AT&T, who merged AT&T Wireless with Cingular, who was also partially owned by BellSouth back then. SBC was rebranded "The new AT&T" and when they bought BellSouth they decided to drop the Cingular name and use the name AT&T Mobility.

Confused? So am I.

QFT. I know it's confusing Steve, but Bob is right. It's a different company, same name.

Now imagine if you were me and had to explain this to 118364983569135693^123875 customers who came into your store.

If you're adamant about switching, try T-mobile. The reception isn't that great, but they are the fastest growing wireless company with the best rates. I would definitely recommend one of their new T-Mobile [email protected] phones. Guaranteed reception wherever you have access to wi-fi.

i worked for cingular when they were merging at&t and bell south i think... than somehow SBC came along and something happened and SBC owns at&t and than SBC decided to use the AT&T name because it is a more established brand and has a longer history than yad yada yada, here's a video

Yeah Im not entirely happy with AT&T at times as well but when I look at verizon/tmobile/sprint I really dont see them being any better.

Each has its perks and for me I have to have GSM and tmobile is almost there for me to consider a switch.

All-Tel kept raising my fees, so years ago I switch to Cingular.

Never had any problems with Cingular. If I had reception issues, it was my phone, not the service.

Ever since the new at&t change over though, I can't even make a call from inside my own house. I have walk out into my driveway to get reception. Exact same phone that I used to sit on my couch and get a FULL SIGNAL with Cingular.

From what I've been told, part of the changeover was at&t selling off some towers and such. Fuckers screwed up.

I am VERY unhappy with at&t right now. I miss my old Cingular.

yeah, all the phone companies are constantly changing names. I used to have VoiceStream (remember them?), now they are part of T-mobile I guess. Then I changed to AT&T, then it became Cingular, though I never had to pay any fees to changeover to cingular, even though I didn't do it until about 2 years after the transition. Now it's at&t again. stupid.

www.sprint.com/sero

search google for sero email to use or just go to a sprint store and get an email address of an employee.

What I have through sprint sero:

500 anytime minutes
unlimited texting(make sure you get this because initially they don't put it on)
unlimited data usage(internet)
nights and weekends starting at 7
sprint mobile to mobile

How much do I pay???? 30 bucks a month (actually less than this).

oh and if you dial *2 and say "dropped call" to the automated lady...you can save up to 11 dollars a month.

What do I do with my saved money? Put it in my pocket or buy games for when I am bored.

Phones are discounted too or you don't even have to worry about rebates because sprint takes care of it for you.

Sometimes I have dropped calls, but since I am paying so little and do the dropped call thing, I can honestly say it doesn't bother me. Sprint rocks for me.

Oh, and since nights and weekends start at 7, I have yet to go over my minutes. When I was with verizon( had 550 min), I was ALWAYS going over my minutes.

If you don't get this plan, something is wrong with you!

i'm paying like $60 a month for cingular->at&t

that's 2 lines
unlimited mobile to mobile and like 500 anytime minutes, with rollover.
90% of my calls are to other cingular-at&t phones, so that's free
and i don't get anywhere near the 500 minutes with other phones. i had several thousand rollover minutes saved up at one point. lol

I hate AT&T. I have Cingular Prepaid and I got a text message from them the other day that the text message rates are gonna go from .05 to .15. These assholes changed everything and now wanna drive up the costs. They can kiss my sweet ass- I'm going to Verizon, AND I'm gettin a plan.

I would go to T-Mobile, but I think I owe them money.:keke:

I have Verizon, and their phones do not suck....its just that they (VZW) cripples them with their firmware. Luckily I found out how to use Alltel firmware on my verizon phone....better response, GUI, more features and work fine on the VZW network.

To the original poster, I have no clue who you should switch too if your press for best minutes/month plan. Verizon has good service, but plans are a bit pricey.

I had verizon and have the same service as I do with sprint. Verizon does everything to get money out of the customer and they ripped me off to no end. The reason I ended up switching is because the phones are only made to last a maximum of 1 1/2 years in a 2 year contract. Both of my phones started having problems and I had two 6 month periods with horrible service.

Age of phone + Quality of phone + your location + provider = results

Yeah Motorola phones are still shitty, my phone is getting old and yeah not as good as it used to.... and some providers do better than others depending now where your at... in some case's they all blow ballz because your in a spot that man has yet to travel... :keke:

its basically a game is how i see it.

word. The new AT&T is terrible. I don't get reception anywhere either and most the places where I do it's not even full.

Daniel.

You guys probably don't have the new 3g sim upgrades, or you never officially migrated to Cingular when they acquired the original AT&T wireless. Without it, you won't have access to the entire Cingular/New AT&T network. Or, you got a 3g phone and you're moving around a lot between Edge and 3G coverage areas. When your phone switches between Edge and 3G most times, it will drop your call.

since this new At&T we dropped them from work. So i got stuck with tmobile. Not very good in the nashville area. I gotta have GSM. I don't like verizon and sprint seems kinda weak to me. How is Alltel?
