Are there any places besides Calcum and Biki to get a daughterboard that doesn't cost $300. I can't imagine just a PCB and EEPROM chip costing anywhere near that if you DIY.
I guess another problem is that the SR engine I have is a 98 (kouki) engine, and finding chips for those almost impossible and for some reason way expensive. Its making almost want to take the Megasquirt route, but I was hoping to wait for UMS (whenever the heck it comes out)

u could run a s13 computer and harness with a rpm switch - and a 50$ daughterboard...

or u can just send it to enthalpy or someone to get you a base tune???

what would the RPM switch be used for?

Probably for the VTC... I'd just send the ECU to Enthalpy and let him do his magic...
