i just recently swapped in a s14 sr20det into my zenki s14. the clip i got was a zenki and my wiring was sent out to a buddy of mine. im new to the whole nissan world. im having a problem with idle. at idle its a bit jumpy it moves from 500 rpm to 800rpm and a few times it'll stay idle but then start jumping again the car dosnt shut off or anything im just trying to get it to stay at a constant idle. i took it for a spin and about 4k it jerks a little like somethings holding it back. if anyone has any resolotuion to my little problem any help will be greatly apreciated. thanks.

Check to make sure the fuel rail and injectors are all seated properly.

Sounds like a vacuum leak, you got a vacuum leak tester?

no i dont have a vacum tester.. i just rememberd. b4 installing the motor in my car i removed the little housing that connected to the turbo. the piece that goes to the maf. when i removed it the gasket had broken off. but i left the gasket and just threw silicon on top of it. could that be the problem? and thats why its doing whats its doing? and the injectors or fuel rail was never removed. should i still check it?? thanks.. really apreciate all the feedback.

sounds like a vacuum or boost leak to me. go through all of your vacuum lines and make sure that your intercooler pipes are secure. If that doesnt help check the wiring to your maf and make sure the maf connection isnt loose. Also go through and just make sure everything is plugged in.

okay ive done pretty much everything yall have adviced me to do. double checked all my charge pipes, double checked my vacum lines sprayed carb cleaner on all the pipes to see if there was a leak any where, i also went as far as buying maf sensor cleaner. cleaned it out and still the same thing. i thought it could be the iacv plug but i unplugged it during idle and it dramaticly changed so i knew it was working, i also did that to the maf sensor and it changed as well so i assume it was working as well. i am not currently running an air filter. can that be any effect at all? also not running an after market fulepump and im currently running a stock fuel filter. you guys have really helped alot by helping me trouble shoot my little problem and i really apreciate your time in trying to help me out. any other solutions will be greatly apreciated.

Check to make sure you have good engine grounds? That's what I just fixed on my sr s13, it jumped and almost would cut off, now it idles smooth.

it sounds to me like yes you could have a MAFS problem or a vacuum problem if it is having problems at idle...

Nissans are pretty much the same as any other motor, just remember you are dealing with certain setup types.

Air: Turbocharger with a MAFS set up
Fuel: MFI
ignition : Dis.

The rest comes naturally as far as diagnosing.

cool im going to try n purchase a new maf sensor and go from there. i can always sell it if it isnt the problem.. ill try to add a few grounds and if that dosnt do the trick ill go ahead and purchase another maf. thanks again for the feedback i apreciate all the help.

what is happening is that your waist gate isnt opening, the line to you waist gate isnt hooked up correctly. fix that and problem is fixed, the like should be going from the bottom right of the throttle body to the waist gate.

*edit* didn't see last post. anyway glad to hear you fixed it, if it happen again, check the above
