I just bought a 1997 Nissan 240sx with HID low beams. I don't know much about these lights, so if anyone can help me out that would be great. I know that the bulbs are 8000k which seem to be too bright. I thought about reducing the intensity by putting in 4300K bulbs, but a few people informed me that doing this will just change the color not the brightness. Anyone know how to reduce the intensity of the lights? Also, the guy I bought the car from soldered the lights in. What can I do if I want to go back to the OEM setup? Any suggestions would be a great help.
Thanks.

unsolder and get regular bulbs. just reducing the number just changes the color, ur better off gettin bulbs instead of hackin away at the ballast or whatever those things r called

4300k will actually be brighter than 8000k. there is more useable light with 4300, thats what the oem's use.

Swap to 4300k.
To go back to Oem you just have to rewire the headlight plugs.

Retro-fit some HID projectors into it and call it a day. Then you won't have to worry about the shitty 8300k's blinding the shit outta everyone and being soldered in.
Here's a direct link to a retro-fit on a Kouki:

You may have to join the forums though, which takes just a minute. Very worth it though.
