This could lead to a Nissan coupe down the road.

Nice, not feeling the rear window all that much, but I like Renault, they make pretty good cars, I've always wondered if they made any RWD models. My dad used to have some kind of a hatchback diesel turbo Renault when I was a kid, it got 60 mpg, haha.

I dont like it...

Looks like the cars you always see in movies that are set in 2050 or whatever.

The main question is:

Will this lead to Nissan's production of a small RWD Coupe, or is this just Renault's version of the 350Z?

Exactly...I doubt a Nissan would ever look like that. It's more the chassis that might be critical to the underpinings of a new Nissan coupe or just a Renault badged and bodied Z.

From what I have heard from insiders at Nissan and I feel this to be true. Nissan has heavily influenced Renault's Racing efforts and in effect their car designs and engines of late. The Formula Renault series which is one of the leadup series to F1 is powered by 3.0 VQ engines. The car above looks like it has Nissan influences all over it. Though the French being the French they would never admit to such a thing, as the French like to make sure all things French are French or at least appear to be French. Whew :P that was a tongue twister lol, but true. The French are funny that way. For example 80% of music on French radio must be of French origin. Man I am glad I am not French.

P.S. Frankford? its that some kind of Ford track? lol J/K I know you meant Frankfurt.

Expect prices to start just north of £20k.

that's about $40k. Sounds more like a renault version of the 350z. Also, if you read the article carefully, the main image is the Fluence concept from 2004. The car they are talking about is in that little sliver in the corner.

visually it is very reminiscent to the 350z but in a cheap sense...

It has hints of Nissan body designs all over it. Yet it has a strangely ugly not Nissan look at the same time. lol
