So I've been wanting to get a motorcycle for awhile now, but I just don't want any bike. I've always admired classic sports cars. I'm starting to get that way with motorcycles. I once saw a show on TLC, this well known Japanese dude built this one bike that resembled the old racing days in Japan. I thought it was freakin' badass. I looked all over the internet to find something like it, but unfortunately I had no luck. What can I say, it was custom made. Haha. So yeah, I was wondering what would be good old classic bike to have. Something I would appreciate and keep for a very long, long time.

There aint a vintage piece on that Duc. Besides the valve train. Nothin against em, they're great.

You might like some of the old Norton's or BSA's. Hope you can wrench though.

i think the 70's pumped out some cool shit. what me and everyone else who probably is talking out of their ass would call a "cafe racer". old Honda CB's, Ducati's, and the like. i also like clean, simple Harleys. i really don't know jack about motorcycles, but if i was going to get an old bike, i'd probably get a Honda. probably significantly cheaper to buy and work on. but again, i don't know shit. i just know that this looks cool.

YES! He went up against some dude with some typical looking chopper and lost. I wonder how much Zero Engineering bikes go for.

some of those bikes are sweet. i'm going to throw a suggestion out there, if you listen to me or not is up to you.

instead of getting something 'classic' just get something 'old'. assuming this is your first bike, it would be good to have something you can wrench on, and something you don't care about dropping. that Ducatti is beyond cool, but imagine how you'd feel if you dropped it. and you probably aren't experienced enough to appreciate or fully utilize a bike of that caliber (don't think i'm talking down to you, i have a bout 4 hours on a bike at this point). think of a 16 year old in a corvette.

Dude, weren't you based in Abilene not too long ago?

Seoul, eh?

You've got a really good point there, i was thinkin the same thing.

First bike, you know you're gonna wanna wrench yourself.

CB750. My sis' BF has it. Such vintage elegance. To me.

Lets help Soch find a CB, eh?

wow, i'm suprised you remember that. i was in abilene (not by choice) for a couple years and Korea was the fastest and most interesting way out.

Hmm, when it comes to cool, it's hard to beat a Vincent Black shadow.

When I finally get a bike though, I'll be leaning towards this modern classic, the Ducati 748.

Or just man up and ride this twin turbo Jaguar V12 powered Kawasaki/Land Rover automotive abortion:
